Do you have a carry rotation?

My Fallkniven F1 is always with me at work, usually carry a folder as well. Today was my BM 810, tomorrow I'm leaning towards the PM2, I also keep a case trapper around for those times when I just know pulling out a larger knife is gonna get me in hot water.

Less of a rotation and more of a selection to choose from. I don't feel the need to force myself to carry something just to get it out of the house - realistically, if I don't carry something for a long time, I'll just sell it and buy something I'll use. I used to try to force myself to like things, but now I just put it up on the chopping block the instant I decide I won't use it enough to justify the cost.

I will go for weeks between changes in my EDC knives. When leaving the farm for "public carry", it's a BK11, a pair of Kabar 1259s, a Buck 502 and a 1950s Kabar 1121 Rigging Knife.

Around the farm, I carry the same 5 knives, unless I'm doing some heavy knife work. In those cases, one or more of the 1259s get replaced with a BK6, BK9, BK20, BK21, Kabar 1217, Ontario SP1, or 1 of the dozen or so machetes stashed around the farm.

My work edc has been pretty consistent, cold steel voyager, zt 0562. Once in a while i sub in my gerber yari 2. Outside of work i have a good rotation. My most used are my emerson horseman, cold steel code 4, spyderco military and endura.

I have a weekday rotation and stick to it pretty well. The rotation is in the photo below. I start at one end, carry the knife a few days, go to the next one for a couple of days, and so on. I have a few other knives that I carry on weekends and choose from them depending on the circumstances.

As a watch enthusiast I have a watch rotationn as well. I've read a lot of cases where people would complain that some of their knives or watches were not being carried/worn so they were selling them. With a rotation that insures that all of my knives/watches get worn equally. If I have a problem with one of the knives/watches when its turn comes up on the rotation then I might hold it out for awhile. If that feeling persists then I might take the item out of the rotation entirely.

My watches and knives have different qualities- things such as brand, color, materials, etc. So periodically I will lay them out and arrange them into an order that mixes up these various qualities. Then I put them in the box in that order and wear them in that order. After a few times through the rotation I might decide to rearrange them.

The knife rotation order has changed since this photo was taken. Right now I have 9 knives and 7 watches in the respective rotations.

I have no real rotation. If something doesn't please me, I carry something else the next day. I will vary a bit what I carry, but in general I tend to carry my favorites most of the time. I have about three or four knives that find their way as a regular carry. The rest pretty much just get looked at from time to time.

Why yes, I have a rotation that includes several CRK's, Striders, ZT's and every so often I'll throw in a gateway knife. Usually on a weekly basis.

It really depends of my schedule and my planned activities.
An orange Spydie is better in the bush than a CRK, which is more suitable for a fine dinner in town.
But I have a pool of knives that rotates based on that.

BM Auto Presidio 5000SBK at work and BM Doug Ritter Mini Grip off work. Only change to that is Spyderco Salt I when I'm going to the beach or kayaking.

During the weekend if I need heavy cutting or battoning, I'll carry my bigger but cheap Ganzo or Enlan knife

Hi! Yes, I have a weekly rotation. I always carry one of the folders I currently own (a dozen or so, excluding the SAKs and Opinels which are my "around-the-house-knives" :)). Feel uncomfortable without one in the pocket ;) and it's keeping it fresh to rotate weekly. Worst case a multitool is always with me in one of my bags . Then, if I plan some specific activity, like an hike or a week-end at seaside, then I either pick a dedicated one (e.g. Pacific Salt) or maybe go for a fix blade.

I carry one daily, 24/7, and others rotate.

Daily: Pacific Salt
Weekly: XL Folder (Rajah, Voyager, Hold Out, Gunsite, Talwar) or Fixed Blade (Aqua Salt, CS Desperado, Sakai SABI, Rock Salt, Hissatsu) + MT (Spirit, Wave, Surge, Powerlock, MP800n Legend, Blacktip, Powerplier, ST300, Core) or SAK +
a complimentary blade depending on the plan for the day, the place or the climate (Salt folder, Small slipjoint, large fixed blade, small neck knife, another multitool, etc.)

oh yes. Two actually. I have a rotation for modern folders and a rotation for traditionals. I usually carry one of each.

I feel like such a noob. My EDC is a Swiss Army knife I bought almost a decade ago. It's never let me down

Me too along with some other blades. That's the thing, if you are satisfied with a SAK, it really is all most people need on a day to day basis. I like SAKs and have for years. Used mine quite a bit this week and sharpened it up this evening. Takes minutes to sharpen.

So much depends on what I am wearing ans what my likely activities will be that particular day.

In a perfect world I have a SD folder (usually an Emerson), a SAK (varies) and a multi-tool (mostly Leatherman).

Life isn't perfect and most days I'm in a S&T office environment so it's just a lighter weight SAK and an Endura (waved).

Lightweight pants and skinny dress belts don't lend themselves well to much more than a small to medium SAK and a lighter folder ... and I like the waved Endura when I'm not carrying an Emerson.

Of the Emersons, I am partial to the 8s, Horseman, CQC-8 and the Super-8 but i try to get the others some fresh air now and again, especially the Roadhouse.

If I do get some woods time, I'm a Beckerhead and, depending on intended activities, I'll dig through my bag of Beckers and grab one of them. The BK-5 hangs in my kitchen where it sees most of its use ... but I can't call that carrying.

I have a half dozen knives I rotate through in no particular order. That blade is always partnered with a leatherman juice s2 is a Swiss Army knife.
