Do you have a go-to knife when you can't decide what to carry?

For years it was the William Henry Tom Brown Quest, with ZDP-189. Since getting the Malibu with Magnacut, I'm thinking that will probably change. I do also generally carry a slipjoint and maybe a small sheath knife most of the time.

My "go2" when I can't decide, is my cheap Kershaw Scrambler... It isn't great at anything, but it does everything; assisted flipped is easy and fast AF, gentlemanly enough appearance, robust enough design, and at about $30 cost, if it gets lost or broke it won't break the bank (but will break my heart).... IMO the best lower end Kershaw ever made, but slept on and sadly discontinued...

There are lots of knives I enjoy using but I’d say this is definitely my “choice” knife, if I had to pick just one.

LTWK Boattail. Never in my life have I experienced a woodcraft knife that fits me better.

If I’m in a hurry or just don’t really know what the day will hold, this blade is my automatic choice.

In second place would be the smaller version of that Boattail, the Pronghorn. I don’t like it as much, but I still love it. You can see how similar the knife is:

My SAK Explorer with magnifier and my small Sebenza 31 PJ are always in my pants, front cargo pocket and front right pocket everywhere I go. The right back pocket and left front pocket go in rotation with 2 other knives. Today it was UTX-85 left front and Spyderco Manix 2 S110V regrind in back right, in addition to SAK and S31.

I like that William Henry - I bet it was sharp all the time with that ZDP-189, and not too fancy to carry and use.

My B30 TACT (39/100) is similar, but with blue fade anodizing and Damascus blade; so I have rarely used it since I worry about messing up the original mirror polished original edge. (wave Damascus with VG-10 core, Kashmir Blue Topaz on the button)

It depends on the environment where I am going to be that determines if I carry my 1911 or just one of my fixed blade.. recently been carrying my polkowski polecat for politically correct environments.. carried in my front pocket with a paracord lanyard for concealed purposes.. If I am going out in the general public, I carry one of my bigger fixed blades with iwb sheath configuration..
