If one actually has a "go-to" kife, deciding shouldn't be a problem.

My go-to knife is my EDC. That is a Leatherman Wave. I only change that out if the event of the day requires me to wear a suit or walk through an airport. When wearing a suit, I may add a Hen and Rooster pen looking knife to my shirt pocket. When I do, I often retain the multitool anyway, as it is my EDC.

Part of my EDC is A knife. I just have a lot of nice ones. Like pens, cars, watches, I like using all of them, but I can't use all of them everyday.

Sure, I get that. I have the same thing with cameras. . . .but sadly, not with watches, pens and cars.

So, you don't actually have an EDC knife then?

Hey Doc, I don't pretend to be an expert on the subject, but I'd expect the ZDP-189 to hold an edge better and a VG-10 core to be tougher. I don't know anything about VH-10, but I'd be interested in what others might know. I do get some links to knives made with it when I run a search, but can't find any definition of it.

Correct. Not the same one everyday by the common definition. Depends on what I'm wearing, where I'm going, what uses I anticipate, etc.
Can't be carrying a wharnie on Tanto Tuesdays :oops:!

It's VG-10 typed with a bandaid on my index finger (pic included with the offender in custody). Talk about "fat fingering" the keyboard, and I thought that was something one does in the bedroom 🤣

LOL! Not laughing at your finger injury, just the VH-10 typo! Glad I didn't try to go too far down the rabbit hole researching it! Hope it heals up fast.
 
Blacked-out Spyderco Endura 4 Combo Edge is my default when I don't want to worry about rotating my carry. A great, lightweight jack-of-all-trades!
 
It's come to my realization that I don't actually have a go to knife. Usually I just carry whatever's newest to me until the novelty wears off, then I switch to something I haven't carried in a while until I get bored of that, then I go back to my newest or buy another™️ and the cycle continues. I've never actually found myself unable to decide what to carry, which is unusual for my personality. Normally I can't decide on anything lol.
 
Probably my ATCF but I'm trying to sell it so after its gone probably my Nirvana.

I usually like to grab my MAM locking folder or a Alox Swiss Army knife if I cannot decide. I have a Byrd Meadowlark 2 I have carried a bit. But it has gotten dull, and I have not touched it’s up yet.
