Do You Have a Good Knife Store in Town?

Amazingly (to me anyway) the Metro Atlanta area has practically nothing. With this large population you would think there would be at least one!
A reason may be that Atlanta has always been a very price driven market for hobby or recreational items, be it guns, cameras, computers, or whatever and it could be hard to make a profit here.
Though I would be content to pay at or near MSRP for many items if I could handle them first.
We do have a lot of Gun and Knife shows, but the emphasis is mostly on guns, though there are a fair amount of knives available mostly of the usual yuk variety.
I envy anyone with a good store near by, if we had one I'd probably be there every week.

On the plus side, we do have the annual Blade show. :D

Closest one to me is House of Blades in West Fort Worth. Great selection but high-ish prices. They do offer sharpening on blades you buy there. I bought a ZT 0200 there last year.

I don't even know of a store nearby that specializes in knives.

There's WalMart and Dicks, with their small selection of Gerber, Victorinox, leatherman, Kershaw...could probably do better at Cabeles for another 20 minutes of driving.

But that's it. I haven't bought a knife off-line in years.

I can be at New Graham Knives in 5 five minutes and that's if I get stopped at a red light. Good people, good prices, and a good selection but I am upset that they can't sell Benchmade anymore.

Northern Knives (northernknives.net) in Anchorage, AK, is about 20 miles from my place. I've been a customer and fondler there for over 10 years. Great father/son owners, friendly, laid back customer service, big selection, reasonable enough prices and they put a great edge on anything you don't feel like sharpening yourself.

Any idea why?

Here's a new place in Frisco to see William Henry knives. They're a jewelry store and carry a few nice ones.

There was some sort of falling out between Benchmade and New Graham, I believe it was earlier this year or at the end of last year. I know that they no longer stock Benchmade and even though Benchmade is my least favorite of all the major knife companies it was still nice being able to look over a large selection of them.

No real walk-in retail outlets that do exclusively knives around here. I am about three minutes from The Knife Center. I think they'll let you walk in if you call ahead. They have a ton of knives. The local Bass Pro and the local REI locations have a pretty decent selection.

I'm fortunate enough to live within 20 miles of one of the largest knife stores in the USA - I'm not so fortunate in that everything they have is mfg list price.

The House Of Blades has every brand of knife you can think of, and many (high quality) brands you never see. 5000 sq. feet of wall to wall knives - You can easily kill the better part of an afternoon just browsing through case after case of knives. Thay also have many custom knives, and due to their high prices, thay also have quite a few out of production Spydies and Benchmades. If you're a knifenutThe House of Blades is a must see if you're ever in the Ft. Worth area.

BTW, Some guy has a video of the place on youtube but I didn't post it since the guy filming it drops an f-bomb or two. :D If you're interested in seeing the vid just go to youtube and type in House Of Blades Ft. Worth TX.
