Do you have a lanyard on your EDC? Poll

Hey, so... I was wondering how many of you actually have a lanyard attached to your knife.

i have a short lanyard attatched to one of my EDC knives, a Spydie Chinook "waved" by our own Charlie Mike. The reason it's on that knife in particular is for retension during a rapid deployment, i.e. utilizing the 'wave'.

I've tried lanyards and have a bunch in my knife drawer, but every time I put one on a knife, it comes off shortly after. Something about how the knife sits in my hand with the lanyard bothers me.

If it has a lanyard hole or a bail, it is getting a lanyard. Since Larry Nowicki taught me how to make square knot lanyards, I've done it. On anything with a blade of more than 5", I put wrist thongs on, just enough cord to wrap around my wrist and be comfortable. The length of the cord used varies for square knot lanyards. They're neat, not really necessary, but add a cool factor.

If it doesn't have a clip, doesn't fit in a slipjoint pouch, and has a lanyard hole then yes (Total of 1, EKA Swede 88). Necker in a pocket sheath also has one for easy retrieval from the back pocket. Guess I never caught the decorative embellishment bug.

I actually just put the first lanyard on one of my knives a few minutes ago - on a Benchmade 530 used for camping. The lanyard came from a pair of Rapala fishing pliers.

I'll see if I like it or not.

I rotate through about 14 high end productions, mid-techs and a couple hand mades and I have a lanyard on about 6

On all 3 inch ones but not on any folder i will clip to my pocket. Seems like it is just asking for someone to grab it or for it to snag on something

Only on BFK's I carry in the field or down range. Doesn't make sense to me for small blades that aren't doing heavy duty work or in an environment where they are more easily lost.

If the handle is really short, I have one to extend the handle a bit in case I lose my grip and to reach it in the pocket. I usually carry my EDC knives clipless in my watch pocket. Then I have a tiny lanyard (just a knot) to make it easier to pull out.

Only for certain uses like some tasks while on a hike or camping, or to keep the blade tethered to my body while on a boat or on white water. For EDC and most other uses, no.

You should worry about the clip snagging on something more. I've had knives pulled out of my pocket several times by pocket clips snagging on stuff.
