Do you have a lanyard on your EDC? Poll

A properly used lanyard (wrapped around the back of the hand by the thumb)
That's how I do it, the blade doesn't drop when I loosen my grip, it would have to swing around backwards to come away from my palm. I don't chop til I'm tired, it just helps with my sweaty grip. If I had that much cutting to do, I would just get the chainsaw :)

Nope, I've tried it and find it to be extremely annoying and absolutly useless. The only function I can see would be on a clipless knife you can let the lanyard hang out the top of the pocket to use as a knife leash. There are some absolutely great looking lanyards out there but I just don't want it on a user knife.

Large fixed blade knives on the other hand can benifit in the grip department from a lanyard wraped around the guard making a sort of d guard.

The only thing I have a lanyard on is my Leatherman Squirt PS4, and that's because its a bit of a pain to get out of my coin pocket without one. For the most part I'm not a fan of lanyards, but I have found in this instance its pretty useful.

Yes I have a lanyard on every knife ,folder or fixed blade, that has a lanyard hole. I bought some and my wife makes some. A knife without a lanyard just looks totally bareass to me.

On my EDC's, no; I carry in belt sheaths so I don't need anything to help get them out of a pocket.

On big woods knives/choppers/machetes, yeah. It's pretty spooky to have one nearly slip out of your hand in mid-swing.

Yes, on my main EDC that I use the hardest. I can hold the very end of the handle with 2 fingers while the lanyards acts like a handle extension in the rest of my hand. This way I get a lot more speed from my blade when I am swinging it at things and I dont throw it across the yard. Camo/OD green, round with a skull bead, looks rad too.

...On anything with a blade of more than 5", I put wrist thongs on, just enough cord to wrap around my wrist and be comfortable. The length of the cord used varies for square knot lanyards. They're neat, not really necessary, but add a cool factor.

yep, on the big blades, a lanyard for the wrist is necessary; swinging the big fellas hard has a propensity to loose grip of the handle.

although i have done it for certain smaller fixed knives (to give it a bit of "pseudo" extension in the hand), i have no use for lanyards on pocket blades; the cool factor is irrelevant to me.

Personally I think that if I have a hard time holding onto the handle on a chopper then the ergos must suck. Or be designed for a grip not geared towards chopping. I have NEVER had a machete or other chopper go flying out of my grasp.

Nope, but I like the idea of bigger split rings on some SAKs and such. I also don't wrap anything with paracord. That seems to have become like nail polish for guys. :D

depends on the knife and the clip it comes with. I would love to be able to put a lanyard on my JYD but there's no hole and no room for a hole. such a shame

I have a toggle on my Sebbie 21... just a loop with a figure 8 knot to assist in pulling it out of the pouch. If I'm ever out boating or doing some other outdoor activity where dropping it would mean losing it, I'll attach it via a lanyard to my belt.

I would only consider it if I was in the military, and I was in the woods and expecting some pretty physical rolling-around. My pocket-clip has always been just fine.

I would differentiate between a fob and a lanyard. I did say in a previous post that I found them annoying. I mean that I don't like fobs but I have used lanyards on occasion when I worked my farm that had knee high brush. It would be easy to lose a dropped knife there.
