Do you keep a knife in your end table?

No...I have about 8 in there 😉
My nightstand is where I keep my "probable rotation" knives and multitools. These are the most likely candidates to be carried based on my day to day.

I do keep a khukuri right under the bed out of old habit, but generally, if I am reaching in the nightstand for protection, I'm drawing out the Glock. Still, not a bad idea to have something handy.

I think it would be prudent for you to buy another knife 😉

I don’t have one assigned there, but when I empty my pockets at night one or two rest there until morning. During the day there is not one there. But, it sounds like a good excuse to buy another knife.

I used to keep a knife handy by the bed. Then I got older and the knife was replaced by a tonfa. A little older and the tonfa was replaced by a revolver. A little older and the revolver was replaced by a 1911. A little older and the 1911 was replaced by a cell phone. A little older and the cell phone was replaced by - a TV remote ceiling fan/ceiling light remote and a couple of inhalers.

As life marches on - you adjust to things your body has trouble doing.

In a realistic world, I'm about as able to use a knife to defend myself as James Dean is - and he's been dead a long time.

Oh wait - I just remembered! Yes - I do have a knife on the end table! I take Albuterol in a nebulizer and it's packaged in little plastic vials. I need to slice open the foild bag the vials are in, then cut the individual ones apart.
So - yes - I do battle with the vials every 4 hours!

I thought this was going to..... keeping a knife on a end table/coffee table?

Yes.

I've often thought that, That should be a new style of knife.....
A Fondling knife.

I always fondle Something.

I use to have an extrema ratio suppressor under my bed, but I live in a pretty safe neighborhood
Eventually sold it
But you know, stuff can happen just about anywhere
I have a glock 17 in my drawer adjacent to my bed but there's no bullets in it so it doesn't do me any immediate good
But thanks for reminding me
I shall place one under my bed today

No kids here to worry about, just me and the wife.

Glock 19 and some flavor of fixed blade on the night stand next to the Alexa, and the Mossberg 930 and 11.5 BCM leaned up in the corner..
Gunz gunz and more gunz
I inherited all 11 of My dad's rifles
Have no earthly idea where they are all gonna go

I stashed a bastinelli silence in my bathroom for a good long while, thinking was, home invasion that forced me to the bathroom and no time to grab something, Bing, in the medicine cabinet
My brother stashed glock clips everywhere in his massive house (dad's idea)
It was either medicine cabinet or sold off for ol' silence, unfortunately it was just given away
