Do you keep a knife in your end table?

Yeah I have several that are part time edc rotation that are in arms length away. Actually I have knives stashed all around the place at home, work, vehicles, tool boxes and garage 😆 never know when you might need a sharp blade.

My end table and coffee table don't have drawers. My bedside table has a drawer with a bunch different kinds of knives and a 1911 in the top drawer. A .30 carbine is the house gun propped up next to the bed.

There's usually one on a bed table, right now it is a Protech Runt. But that's really only about protection from hangnails, stray threads, etc.

But then the house has a thin film of knives all over, I think it must be something akin to Brownian motion.

Another thing you may want to keep with your knife (or gun) is a whistle.
There are some insane loud ones on the market. Unexpected loud noise will freeze the reflexes while the mind processes it. The body tends to flinch away, both, good for you, bad for the creep

I do. I am a first responder, and I have a small shelving unit with a set of clothes, pager, radio, etc on the other side of my night stand. On my nightstand is wallet, phone, keys, knife and flashlight. If I get a call in the middle of the night, I need to be out of the house ASAP and keeping everything right next to the bed facilitates speedy response.

This has nothing to do with self-defense. Much like Hammer67 Hammer67 if I need to respond to a threat in the home, I have more effective tools that are also kept at the ready and nearby.

My desk is where a bed stand might be expected. There are about 10 knives on the desk, some of which live on the desk but most of which get carried at some time or other. No children, and the cats have not yet learned how to open folding knives. Autos and fixed blades are in sheaths or cases.

Burglars tend to prefer places that do not have multiple guard dogs. But anyhow, burglary rates in the US have dropped dramatically over the past 15 years.

yes I do, I ones kept my 1911 in the same place thinking if stuff ever go's bad I wouldn't be without .

5 there and another 7 in the top dresser drawer, at this time( have been more).
Not meant for protection, but who knows.
