Do you know Famous celebs who are into Knives ?

Lol I specifically came to list Stabman and what do ya know? He beat me to it!

I mean, the dude wrote a book!

Got to build that pedestal to jump onto. :D

Last thing I'd want to see is Miley Cyrus doing a Buck Knives commercial and twerking with a 119 balanced on the base of her back

Of course not.
Beyonce twerking with a Junglas would be far better. :)

Seriously?

That's like walking into a grocery store holding up your knife up high in the air for everyone to see and saying 'hey check out my knife!'.No one would care or at the most one might give a light compliment.Celebrities are just people, they're opinions shouldn't be held higher than anyone else's logic. And their trends to warp the culture should be snubbed.Last thing I'd want to see is Miley Cyrus doing a Buck Knives commercial and twerking with a 119 balanced on the base of her back...can't stand MTV.

Not much to add but it's nice to identify with a celebrity who shares an interest.

Also, this is the best ad targeting I've seen in a while!

Nobody is forcing you to read this thread are they? :thumbdn:

Seems like quite a few members are enjoying it and participating in it.

Well the twerking part(laughing) doesn't look tasteful to our culture. You could visualize a guy handing a hooker $25 from his passenger window and see her doing that on the sidewalk out in Las Vegas. Now I was in a diner passing through Montana and noticed a stranger carrying a Kershaw 1050 so we chatted it up a bit about knives. Now I like Jack Nicholson as an actor but I wouldn't feel idolized to carry the same knife as him,or felt some level of social acceptance if we carried the same brand or model if I met him.Like I said people worship celebrities too much and Hollywood has been declining culturally especially with PC.They'll probably design a knife when used in a self-defense situation it lets out a voice that says 'we're sorry you were contacted from this blade by this incident, please call 1-800 something or other for emotional support and a list of local legal representation'.

I don't understand what this has to do with the topic of the thread at all. People in it are enjoying talking about famous people who like knives.

If you don't like famous people, that's your thing, and I'm sure you are free to open a thread on that subject in some place like Community.

I happen to be enjoying the thread.

Pretty much everyone is "into" knives...people gotta eat or at least accessories the kitchen for a long ago episode of Cribs or social media post.

Stallone was a big collector in the 80's.

David Crosby was a high end collector. He even brought John Lennon to visit Bob Loveless at one point.

Steven Tyler and Joe Perry from Aerosmith were interested in high end folders.

Deniro, Nick Cage, and Jim Carrey all had an interest in higher end folders at one point too.

David Mamet was friends with Bill Bagwell, even giving him a cameo in "Things Change".

Blondie, the band was interested in the custom scene for a bit, even gifting William Burroughs a Ruana 30A Bowie.

Authors Lawrence Block and David Morrell were into knives, Morrell especially.

Interesting topic. Is there a way that we can see at least some celeb's knife collections? This thread needs pics or it never happened :)

And we could go "historical"....John Wayne, Sammy Davis Jr. and Lee Marvin collected John Nelson Cooper knives, if that hasn't been mentioned.

Ronald Reagan carried a Randall. Let's not forget he was a Hollywood celebrity first!

Maybe that will make Frotier happy. Get the bee out of his bonnet.

Or lets go way back and see who puts the pieces together....prominent nineteenth-century American Shakespearean actor Edwin Forrest.

Here are a few other music ones -

John Popper of Blues Traveler, is a big tactical guy.

------------- Not collectors, but an interest in specific knives -

Keith Richards liked Okapis, and other ring pulls.

Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols carried an Endura.

Dee Dee Ramone had an affection for the 007 knife, because it was a big, cheap, quick folder. He'd even mention them to other punk rockers like Sid Vicious who used a similar type during the whole "Sid and Nancy" thing.

Various members of the Cro-Mags liked the 007 for much the same reasons as Ramone.

K.C. Armstrong, who was a member of the Howard Stern crew for a bit, liked Spydercos. I think he gave Stern one, as Stern mentioned he got one as a gift, and it was a neat little thing.

Edit -

Ice T and Sir Mix a Lot also liked fantasy knives and swords.

My bro in law is in Anti Flag and he's been a knife guy sin even he was a kid.

Oh, just remembered an interesting one - Randy White of the Cowboys, and NFL hall of famer, collects knives, and even learn how to make them.

James Jones was a great admirer of Randall's work.

And here's a neat early photo of Errol Flynn carrying his Randall -

Someone once told me that Jonathan Winters was interested in traditional pocketknives.

Going back to Keanu Reeves, as the villain in the movie Man of Tai Chi, he uses a tactical folder as his main weapon.

Didn't know Joe Rogan was into knives but seems like hes into hunting elks and posted pic of his custom made damascus steel knife

made me kinda interested in fixed blade knives

Rogan mentions handmade knives all the time on his podcast. I'd love to see his collection!

Oh wow I thought Marcinek was going to spout some names of people that carried knives who actually contributed something to society...

Alexander Graham Bell,Thomas Edison,William Shockley,Nikola Tesla,Albert Sabin,etc.

Call me a celebrity hussy now but I ponder what pattern of slipjoint knives composers such as Vivaldi,Beethoven,Mozart,Mahler,Bach, and Tchaikovsky had.Bach's Air on the G-String to remind you...
