Do you like AR15's?

Ar15's are good for accuracy, and range with the 5.56 cartridge, and can handle mild to moderate abuse. Ak47's are good for major abuse and have far less accuracy with a hard hitting 7.62 cartridge

Both fire medium power cartridges, neither are particularly hard hitting. Also, both weapons are available in either caliber.

No complaints with either platform, starting the build of my new AR however with an Esee Lower :)

What I'd really like to get is an ACR in either 7.62 or 5 .56, I just need to get out of NY first.......

Like `em? Yup. Specifically, I like the variety possible in a single platform. I stick to 5.56/.223 myself because I made the ammo and mag investment before the last presidential election, Sandy Hook, etc. My vision being what it is, I'll never be as accurate as any of my guns are truly capable of, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying them. I just wish I had more time to shoot.

Yes I do. I have an 10.5in LMT SBR and a YHM 5.56 suppressor. I use a IR laser/illuminator in conjunction with a helmet mounted PVS-14 to do night hunting. VERY VERY fun.

This is the only pic I have of one of my ARs at the moment. It's a little 7.5in pistol I built. The other rifle is a DTA .308 covert with a YHM .30 suppressor and Nightforce 5.5-22x50. I have a .338 lapua conversion for that rifle too.

ETA found one of the 10.5 SBR. Can't really see much of it other than the scope(nightforce) and the suppressor. Setup on my Foxpro coyote call. I shot a coyote from that spot about 10mins after that picture was taken.

Crow head shot(they were ruining the farmers crops and I did some removal for him).

Yes.

Very versatile rifle, can do pretty near anything you want to with them.
She's sleek, sexy, and not near as high maintenance as she's made out to be.

But then I like my Sigs, AKs, Enfields, Mosins, Garands........

What does AR stand for? I looked on line for the AK but can only find AKM for sale. Are they discontinuing AKs?

AR -- Armalite Rifle. Armalite being the original producer of the M16/AR-15.

AK -- Avtomat Kalashnikov. Technically, an AK has a milled receiver, the AKM -- AK, Modified, uses the stamped receiver. Most of what you see called AKs are AKMs.

At least your first post on a knife forum about a weapons opinion was right!

My Patrol Rifle....A Colt with a Noveske monolithic upper.

I don't know why I am wasting my time, but I will just to amuse myself. The AK is not an accurate weapon, period! It is not just my opinion, but an opinion shared by all except Johnny Jihad. I do have respect for the AK, considering the reliability and extra firepower. Hell, you can use the Ak as a sledge hammer and it still functions as it should. This is do to loose tolerances by the way. As far as accuracy....lol..If you think they have any accuracy (other than an AK weapon revamped by a US gunsmith), I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you!!......Are you kidding me?

No and not looking to argue either, thousands of rounds downrange through an ak, even more downrange through an ar. No they aren't aks picked up out of the sand maintained by someone in a desert. 1.5 to 2 inches off hand at 100 yards, pretty much exactly what I do with the ar. After 350 to 400 yards the Ar does better, unless your using a 5.45, then back to a flatter shooting round than the 7.62x39. I don't know you, you don't know me, 50yr old vet and yeah I've shot them both a lot.

Oh and thanks for the obnoxious attitude.
