(Hard enough just to remember names of pets ...and the wife's . )

I do call my tools "names" , sometimes .

But also offer praise and thanks for good work .

I don’t generally name inanimate objects, occasionally something will fall into a name.

I had a nice old Sears tractor. I bought a rusty parts tractor that ran so good I never parted it out. It is named Rusty.

No guns, no knives, no cars.

Nope, gets too close to a LOR kind of thing. I may have come close one time to describe a small pocket fixie as my pocket pal…but the makers’ designation is good enough. I don’t want to be known as saying like Al Pacino’s Scarface quote, “Say hello to my little friend!” However, I would like the opportunity to say like Crocodile Dundee, “That’s not a knife……now that’s a knife!”
