Guys, there are only a few of these left, but if you buy one before the 16th, you'll not only get 10% off the purchase price, but I will donate all remaining profit plus enough money from the sale to make a $25 donation to the Jimmy Fund.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1261221-A-GAW-with-a-different-twist

I am not making any profit from the sales of these knives; There are eleven left, and I'd like to have them out of my safe and in your pocket, so if you can help, you will not only get a great knife at a bargain price, but will be adding to the possible grand total donation of $275 to the Jimmy Fund.

Thank you all for making the trads forum such a great community!

Barry, You're a stand up guy and this is a mighty generous gesture. The Eric's Jack is a real nice knife.

This kind of advertising wouldn't normally be allowed here but since this was the alternate forum knife and orders were originally taken here, along with the fact that it's tied into a GAW that Spark sanctioned, I'm going to leave it be unless the higher powers find it inappropriate.

Guys and gals, please make sure any orders are made via Barry's website, not here.

Thanks again Barry!

Thank you Phil! It's somewhat difficult for me, as both my wife's and my most precious people on this earth were taken before their time by this insidious disease - our dear mothers. It's been years, but I still choke up. Cancer sucks!

Thank you Gary, for your understanding and cooperation.

I will make your donation 'In Honor Of' or 'In Memorial Of' at your request, and will notify you all by email. Thanks again.
I am not making any profit from these sales and will add additional funds to the donation.

Usually I look through post's hurriedly - and Barry, Jimmy I apologise GREATLY...
Jimmy I must to you apologise as I didnt read your Thread, and see the hold that Cancer takes you and your family Hostage, I know this personally, Barry my friend I never knew about your wife - I feel quite emotional posting this because of a constant fear that lives within, Guys I am so so sorry, I too have been hit by Cancer, I was diagnosed with having Bowel Cancer after being very sick for three years - after a massive operation and nearly two years of life changing diet I am still here - but I admit to living in great fear - the horror my family went through and I admit the fear that shook me to the core most literally was unimaginable.
Barry, I pming you as I have chosen #80, although I already own one, I cant go past this, and I want to add more for the cause.

Cambellclanman has chosen number 80 to add to his collection, and has pleged an additional $25 donation!

Duncan, you are Aces in my book and I am proud to call you my friend! Thank you so much for your generous contribution!

Classy bunch here folks. I must take a moment to commend all of your efforts. It's really what makes this place so great and keeps me coming back again and again. Great knives and now representing a great cause. Kudos to you all!

Barry your generosity speaks volumes about your character. Bravo sir! :D

Let's see, uh, carry the one, uh, it looks like the new total is up to

$150.00 !!!!! Whooo- hoo!!

I was thinkin' about this thread last night before drifting off to sleep... and it made me recall a time about 50+ years in the past when I was a lad and we lived in Northern California. Those were good times back in the late 50's and early 60's and I spent many a waking hour playing 'Tarzan' down by the American River amongst the old tailings piles from the gold rush days. But even better, I thought our family was particularly lucky to have one of the few built-in swimming pools with a diving board, even!

Back in those days, a new company was emerging and selling pizza at a honky-tonk restaurant in nearby Sacramento; some of you will recall Shakey's Pizza. At any rate, we kids loved pizza and my folks would pack the four of us into our old 1949 Studebaker and head into town on occasion. My folks eventually met and made friends with a blind honky-tonk piano player who worked there named Bob. He was married to a striking redhead by name of Adele. They were just starting their family then and had two young children if memory serves (but I think have more now).

I remember them coming over to visit and we would all play in the backyard swimming pool. Bob loved kids and was the finest 'Marco Polo' player in the universe, as you might imagine. I was continually amazed at how he could do anything a sighted person could do, and much more. Unfortunately, the good times were not to last, as we found out their oldest boy was diagnosed with leukemia. He was taken by this terrible disease before he had reached the age of about five.

I still get sad thinking of this after all these years. Anyway, time marched on and situations changed, my folks divorced and we eventually lost track of the Ringwald family. Then an amazing thing happened. I heard of a new movie coming out called The Breakfast Club, but I never saw it until years later and who was the star? The beautiful and talented Molly Ringwald.

This story is completely true, but I may have gotten some facts wrong due to memory.

WOW Barry---first off I remember and loved Shakys pizza---to me it may have been the best---Then the tragic loss of their son (Ringwalds) is sad---the Molly Ringwald coincidence is amazing---great story, thank you for that:thumbup:

Mom would dress like a 'flapper' and sing for the crowd, while Dad shuttled beer and talked with his pals. This was taken about 1972 at my Dad's pub, and I apologize for the quality, but it's a small miracle it survived.

Got this one about a month ago. Stag thickness was pretty uneven so I sanded it down. Didn't plan on sanding the bolsters but did it anyways. Lost some of the bark on the stag but I like the smoother yet more grippy feel to it. I think it came out pretty ok...

Nick, that knife looks great! Awesome coloration now, and a unique piece! Good job. :D

I can't believe it's the same knife!

Thanks guys! I rounded off the edges especially at the butt end and it feels nice in hand. Some parts of the stag lightened up and I gave it a good coating of mineral oil, darkened it a little overall. I like this knife even more now.
