Do You Remember This Knife?

I was forced to order a 2nd one (#30). My dad liked my #7 so much that I knew I had to get him one. Now, do I give it to him as soon as it arrives, or do I make him wait until Christmas? :D

Wow-- coming from you two, that's a ringing endorsement of my choice. :)

Well - that is not the end of it ~ P. - it seems I was browsing back through the Barlow thread this weekend and came across some beautiful Charlows that you possess. They caused my mouth to water more than a wee bit. I would love to see your Charlows in a group shot one day. ;):D

Whew! That's a purty one there Barry. Love the contrast in that stag.

Great knife, thanks for the fast shipping Barry.

Mighty fine Kris!!
Every one looks good so far.
I haven't seen one I wouldn't be happy to stick in my pocket!

W:eek:W Barry - that one is excellent too! I love that old skull in the background!!:D
Thanks Primble! It's tough to compete with your photography skills....

Great knife, thanks for the fast shipping Barry.

That is a real beauty Kris!

It is #53 and is still available!

Guys, I've been experiencing some website issues, but everything is up and running and I apologize for the inconvenience.

That is a well matched pair of scales Brian!
Thanks Dave. It's has rather thick slabs and that also influenced my decision.

Agreed on how very fine everyone's knives look! Other's pictures, combined with my now having an Eric's Jack in hand and sussing out its construction and balance, encourage me that one really can't go wrong no matter which set o' covers one chooses.

Brian, unlike you, I wanted thinner covers-- all the more reason why Barry's taking the time to capture those top-down pictures is such a great bonus. I also have new respect for his photography talents, having tried mine again. Such as they are. He also possesses mad shipping skillz. A power catapult, perhaps?!

Mine arrived sharp:

:D

One thing that drew me to this particular knife was its variation from side to side, so I didn't have to choose just one color palette....

:)

As noted above, I also like its relative thinness:

Thank you again, men!

Primble, one of my many regrets at not currently (nor foreseeably) having the time I'm used to having here is missing out on more carefully responding to your many contributions, and enjoying bantering about your beauties. By the time I see your fine pictures of fine knives, often late at night, I'm left in fireworks mode ("OoOOooh. Ahhhhhhh."), and seldom respond. I'm glad if you are enjoying (or at least being teased by) my previous photographs.

What you may not be aware of is particular challenges to outdoor photography in my immediate vicinity.

Outtakes from this evening's Eric's Jack shoot:

;-)

I have a difficult time capturing group shots [that do the individual knives justice], and my camera is not currently yielding the images I know it's capable of (schmutzy lens? aperture trouble? I'm not sure). I'll see what I can do going forward, but am currently frustrated. Thank you for the kind words, all the same.

Sarah, you've got a pretty severe case of lint on your lense, aka "furball lense". Although the usual lense cleaning solutions and wipes have little effect on it, I've actually found that an open can of tuna placed about ten feet away from the camera usually draws the furball right off the lense! If that doesn't work try placing an important document or freshly washed garment on the floor, this usually has the same effect. ;) :D

You picked a beauty there, I sure hope you like it!

You folks are all showing some fantastic photos!!

I was on the fence on this one. Gorgeous knives, price a bit higher than I like to go. But I found one in the bunch that just would not be denied, so - order placed! #38 will hopefully be en route soon.

Thanks for taking such great photos from all angles, Barry. I know that's a lot of work but it really takes all the worry out of on-line shopping.

STOP RIGHT THERE! and think. "what would he have done?"

mine arrived this morning -- very nice, although I wish the etchers had spelled Erik correctly. :D
I'll try to get a picture up once I'm home.
