Do You Remember Your First?

Ritter/Becker RSK-MK2 (AKA the BK12) was my first:

Can't decide if I want a BK9 or BK15 next...

ahh it was a cool July evening, two lovers in love sharing a blanket and some secrets under a moonlit night.....she held my hand in hers and told me that I had to have exact change....

My first Becker was years ago, a Cam BK9 that i received as a gift from my father, didn't know what I had at the time...it left my possession many years ago...what brought be back to Beckers was all the hype I have heard about the BK2....I bought one and fell in love...since then I have came into quite a few more...you will too...TB wouldn't have it any other way...here is a little older picture of it...she has micarta handles now and a sweet leather sheath from Skystorm....

My first was also an 11. Which was soon followed by a 14,10le, 3, 17. Trying to decide what next, I'm thinking 5, 15, 7, 2. With the kitchen knives in there when released.

My first was a camilllus bk7, followed by a bk9. Ended up keeping the 7 and ditching the 9. Now I have a number of beckers, but my original 7 is still here, as well as bk4's, bk7's, bk2's, and more!! I love uncle E's designs, ease of use, pricepoint and general utility!!

Forgot to mention, I bought my 2 just a few short months ago (Feb. I think) and somehow I have ended up with a few more....and one on the way, they reproduce like lil BeckerBunnys!

oh, and if you love the 7, use the googles and check out the BK-77. it's the 7, but in s30v steel (steel type is a whole 'nother can of worms you'll be opening pretty soon if you get into knives).

it's bad@ss. also hard to get. but it's a good one to put in the back of your brain if you love the 7. just in case the chance comes up to buy one someday.

I ordered my Bk9,11,13, and 2 at the same time. I originally wanted the 9 but then I said f-it and added the rest to my cart.

Camillus BK-11 in D2, now with leather scales. Still got it.

mrn8...What made you change from the cord?

Camh....The handles are amazing. Did you do that all yourself?

EK20...What a pretty family you have.

DJG...I can see this happening to me. Add to cart. Add to cart. It won't stop. Might not want it to stop either.

Jroden...What made you want to strip the black?

Greybush...Sorry to hear about your first love. What a shame. Seems like the 2 is a really popular choice. She gets around. :)

Yes and Yes.
My first was a BlackJack BK5 satin in a leather sheath with a copper retaining pin that slid through the sheath and knife...VERY sweet knife.
Alas, I sold it long ago....for a bunch less than its worth now....oh well.

My first was a BK-11 also.
And while I may not be a "lifelong Beckerhead", I loved the knife from the moment I held it.
I started off with the general paracord handle wrap.
Then I stripped it, jimped it, and threw down a polish on the blade.
Fixed it up with some micarta(which made a big difference on the overall feel of the knife).
Thrillbilly sent me a Kydex sheath along with the Maxpedition Versipak from one of his giveaways.
Just recently i put a Tabasco patina on it. Looks cool, but I may still bring back the mirror finnish...who knows.
It's not the most expensive Becker by far. But this little knife holds a special place in my heart.
I wouldn't sell it for $100, or even $200 for that matter.
I plan on keeping it for a lifetime.

(At work right now...I'll post pics this evening.)

Some say the BK-2 is the Becker "gateway drug". For me it was the mighty 11. Cause now I own the 11,2,4,7,& 9 and have no plans of stopping there.
Just make sure you know what you're getting into around here MNI!! lol

Pics as promised:

I got two BK-9's and a BK-2 at the same time. So they are my first Beckers.

First pic back when they were new in box.

This is what the 2 looks like now.

My 9's are still mostly untouched, aside from the stippling of the scales and convexing.

Jonny...She's pretty. :) I like the wrap that you (?) did on her.

wasatchdan...Your first picture seriously made me giggle. Like a little school girl. Soooo many fun toys you have. I'm jealous. :)

Camillus BK-5, my first and favorite with the BK-15 being it's only rival for the #1 spot.

I've had it for over a decade and I'll never part with it.
