Do You Remember Your First?

Camh....The handles are amazing. Did you do that all yourself?

Yeah...But the handles (on the BK2) are actually kinda nnoying, not terrible but not the best. Currently only using a small dremel is a PITA and I'll be trying a different approach the next time I make a set of scales.

First was a BK 2, followed a few months later by a 14, then a 17, then a 9. I can't decide what I want next? I have been looking at the 7, but what I really want is a becker folder...

Oh yes. When I first hefted the mighty steel of the BK2 I was in total shock. I had not before that time wrapped my hand around such large girthed metal. Shocked, awed, blown away, I felt like the Gods of carbon steel had blessed me and told be to go and cut and chop whatever was in my way, I had their blessing. This is photo soon after receiving my blessing showing my width off to my buds, they were mightily impressed.

I now have more holy metal from KBAR. I feel very strong, I feel good when I go out to meet the common folk with my bk9, bk5, cutlass, and kukri dangling from every place that something can be dangled from by body. I stuff bk2, 14 and dozier somewhere in my underwear. My pants sag low, but I gain much respect with holy steel. I feel like I could just kill a bear.

My first was an 11 as well. I was fascinated by the thought of a knife I could wear around my neck. a Becker necker you say? its been a whirlwind affair since. the bk5 is still my favorite even tho I lost her in the divorce

My First was a 2 given to me by my best friend...then the 11 came along and the 9 just had to follow me home one day...still have them all and am eyeballing the 5 and 15...so much metal...

Ahhhh, my BK-2, I love her so. After doing research on a good survival/bushcraft/everything knife I knew I had to have a BK-2, and I've been in love ever since. Since that pic she has been stripped, sanded, batonned through a POS made in china trinket knife, helped me cook some tasty meals, batonned through a forest worth of wood, etc, etc, etc. I still owe her some leather pants and micarta, I keep getting distracted by other knives but I eventually want to go back to her and really truss her up nice.

Thanks for bringing back fond memories!

getridone....What a nice collection you have. That first picture my goodness those blade are thick! They all look used and happy.

clich...I love how portable the 11 is. Think that is why I was so drawn to her. Sorry to hear about your 5 :( Custody should be awarded to the father.

RogueBowie...Love the first picture. It's almost like their first steps. Can't wait to see some pictures when you get her all dressed up. :)

Rogue Wow. Look at her. Just beautiful. Now a silly question. :) On a day to day use what do you use her for? (once again...silly noob)

Ask away, nothing wrong with questions, that's what this board is here for IMO. On a day to day, I use it to baton wood down in my backyard when I am getting fires started in my fire pit, I use it when I am gardening if I need to chop or pry something out of a confined space (roots, etc), I have even used it to cook (as seen in one of the above pics) and it has many many more uses in a survival/back country situation, those are just what an average day to day use is for me of my 2.

Here is my first. camillus BK11

I know I need more light. It's called a man cave for a reason.
I also remember the one that got away. Way back when I almost got a cincinnati Machax. I Spoke to Eathan on the phone and was ready to order but I was young and money was tight.( still is) I had to pass. I wish I would have got it Who needs things like gas and food?

My first was my 2. I still have it but it does not get used much at all. I have mainly been using my 9 and some various other beckers. The Order I acquired mine in were 2,14,9,FPR1-6,15&11, then the normal 16 on Friday that I have yet to test out ;)

I had my girl out last night. You ever see a good looking branch and think....my that would make a great sword. Yep. Took off some leaves and smaller branches and made my son a sword. :)

my first was a Camillus made BK2 i bought in late '03, or early '04 at a gun show. i didnt know much about their products, but as soon as i held it i had to have it. its my favorite knife for many reasons and i will never let it go. you should have seen the looks on the faces of the guys i hunt with when i showed up with that beast at deer camp. LOL now they all respect that knfe and its capabilities and a couple of the younger guys have picked one up of their own. a truly great knife.
