I have just made a trade for one and am wondering if everyone is still likeing theirs? Does the thick blade cut good?

I bought one, sold it, and then bought another one because it came with a deep carry clip. I do love it, but I'm not totally sold because the one thing I like to do is cut up apples, and the thickness of the Southard blade is not terribly great for that task.

Still digging mine, I also have a deep carry clip, and have to force myself to carry anything else. I have used it to cut fruit and did not really notice it performing poorly.

Just look at it...

I love it! Also, I just cut up an apple with it the other day. Worked fine. Sure, it's not an Opinel or a Victorinox with a super thin blade stock, but it did fine.

I didn't like it when it first came out because it seemed ugly. Then it grew on me so I bought one. The pocket clip it comes with is hideous, though I know it is made to be like Brad Southard's style clips. I got a deep carry from STR and I like the clip better, but it's one his first and it seems like it could use just a bit more refinement to better match the lines of the knife. It's a huge step up in how it carries in the pocket.

As far as cutting goes: it "pops" apples because the blade is so thick. It slices softer fruits and veggies fines. If you hold like you're going to peel an apple, it seems a little strange because of the curve of the blade. Overall, for being as thick as it is, the hollow grind greatly helps in cutting and slicing because the edge is pretty thin. Compared to my TSF Beast, it cuts much more nicely. The Beast doesn't have a very thin grind even near the edge and cuts more like a chisel. I think the tradeoff of having an incredibly durable steel coupled with a hollow grind makes it one of my favorites right now.

I love how grippy the G-10 is, and I can't get over how nicely the blade deploys. Very smooth action.

Still digging it. Especially after I dressed her in wood and polished aluminum. :-D

What is there not to like. I modded the clip a little.....stonewashed and rounded the point and is great now.

It retired my Para2
I always get really excited about a new knife but usually after a few weeks I return to what ever king of the mountain I was carrying before
I got mine the first week they were out off a preorder and after carrying it a few weeks I expected I'd go back to the Para2.
I put it away for one day and it killed me.
The Para2 withstood challenges from the following .. Gayle Bradly, ZT550,ZT560,Carbon fiber Sebenza, Bouse SS, and a few others
Right now I've been buying fixed blades because there are no folders that have interested me lately

Right front pocket today (with a STR deep carry clip) Still love it, but when I don't have to be discrete I still carry a Carbon fiber Military :D

I still love my Southard. Has basically obliterated all my other flippers due to its PERFECT detent. Probably going to order a CF scale and lock stop from Cuscadi.

I sold it, proved to be too thick blade for edc. But it is superb, no second thoughts about it.

Still in the front pocket for EDC (with a STR low rider clip)!

With the STR low rider clip, it is now my first choice for EDC, hands down.

I still don't like it. There's honestly nothing about this knife that appeals to me. Different strokes I guess.
