Do You Still Like Your Southard?

Still my favorite knife. I thinned and contoured the G10 and had it sandblasted, and also got the STR deep carry clip. Still amazed at what a nice little knife it is, full of Taichun goodness.

Still my favorite Spyderco. Carry it almost every day. On the one or two days that I don't carrying it, I end up missing it.

Love the Southard, great knife! Only thing that I would change if I could redesign it is the size. Its a bit small for my hands.

Love it

I have carried mine with me to work everyday since the first week I got it. It is in my top 3 right now. The only 2 above it are there for sentimental reasons.

I still love mine. It's a tad small for my hand so it doesn't get carried daily but I appreciate, nay...admire it's styling.
It's smooth action and overall feel is one of quality and perfection.

I (tried) to avoid the Southard and did for a good while, but had to try one. I still believe it is one of the best Spydercos to date. It has such nice balance, build, smoothness and ergos. I could go a long time with just that and this other.

It's still my favorite after getting a large Sebenza, small Sebenza, and a Hinderer XM-18. It's just so good. It cuts better than all of my knives right now, and it's reasonable size for my edc. Neither Sebenzas has kicked it out of my pocket nor has the XM-18. Nice plus is my rit dyed scales. Love it. I would like to have a choil on it though, but I don't think it's necessary.

I was able to handle a Southard, Caly 3 Damascus, and CF Blur at a gun show today.
Really impressed with the Southard
and the Caly 3 melts in the hand
Blur was nice too, felt kind of large though

I did not
was a bit more expensive for the knives, $300 for the Southard
But my like for the Southard keeps growing :)
Felt smaller than I thought it would too, and I was carrying my Para 2

Still loving mine. I put it to work in the kitchen cutting up vegetables and meat today. I couldn't believe how well it did. I really love the belly that this blade has. At no point was I tempted to reach for the 10" chef knife. I was having too much fun with the Southard.

Just get it used like I did. I got mine under $200 and I couldn't be happier.

How would a choil work on a flipper? Wouldn't the quillon always be in the way?

I'm glad it doesn't have a choil. This knife packs so much edge into an easy to carry knife. Wouldn't change a thing about the blade or ergonomics.

Totally agree about the blade shape. I candidly don't think it's all the "pretty", but man-o-man does it work.
