Do you use a knife at work?
By "Work" I mean 9-5 day to day job, Active duty Military, Leo's, FF, Field Craft Etc
Would you carry a knife if the Job allowed?

I carry a few in my big rig. One custom fixed blade for food prep, one for general work, one for self defense, and about four others just to fondle going down the road and scare the smart car drivers.

"A" knife? I guess you could say that. I usually carry several and use two or more during the course of the day.

Yes. When I'm running cables behind drywall I often use my knife to cut a perfect 2x4" hole in the wall to install a junction box. Also, the need may arise for the reduction of cardboard, scraping of certain materials (paint, tar, elastic roof coating) off solar panels, etc. If I don't have a knife in my pocket, I cannot go to work.

I spent the last 30 years of my working career as a machinist. I used the sheepsfoot blade on my Buck stockman a lot, but then figured why beat up my knife. I started keeping a Stanley Utility knife on the workbench. It was cheaper and easier to replace a blade than chew up my knife for somebody elses profit. Plus it just worked better.

Carl.

yup, using them for box break down, tape (etc.) cutting, couple of small ones for lunch prep.

I use whatever knife I am carrying that day , every day at work several times a day.

When I'm working (during the rare times I have enough time not to be reading) I am usually the only guy in the office.

I use my knife all the time, and frequently get asked to cut things down. In fact, I used my newly acquired LH Military and no one batted an eye.

I work in a network lab. Use my knives for opening packages, breaking down boxes, cutting zipties, and have even cut the occasional cat5 cable just for fun. :D

As a Sales Trainer you got to use a knife pretty much every day. (how about that...)

Opening boxes, cutting flipcharts, knocking on table for silence, food-prep...and, to my personal entertainment, deploying it in front of coworkers...

My boss knows, but gives a rats ass about it ;-)
(he´s turkish. my guess is, its part of his heritage...)

Between semesters when I work in a warehouse of course I use a knife all the time! Cutting boxes, cutting tape, cutting cords, cutting tie down straps, and cutting zipties are all standard fare at least a few times a day.

I drive a skip truck, and yes I use knives daily. Carry a folder on me but have several Moras around that are for rough and dirty things. Also have a machete with me if I need to clear the way before driving in.

Of course I would!!

Sadly, the federal agency where I work cannot allow me to bring a knife.:(

By training and inclination, I am a lab physicist. I have endless uses for the humble knife. I find it unbelievably irritating to be without one. On the other hand, I have developed enormous hand strength ... ridiculous for a man my age.

I'm a student and -fortunately- they don't ban anything on campus.
I need a legal reason for any fixed blade above 4.5" blade or one hand opener (german law) and I usually carry 2 one hand openers and a small fixed blade - to sharpen pencils, to cut my food at the cafeteria, ... I usually put the fixed blade into my backpack when I'm in labs.

Of course, I carry some knives every day. Use it as often as necessary.

Kind regards...

Never had a job that didn't need a knife at somepoint. Don't think I want a job that didn't actually, probably would require sitting at a desk all day.

I bring my Cold Steel Spike. It's good for SD or food prep. Freaks out the coworkers a bit, I don't like to pull it out and wave it around.

all the time, opening boxes, stripping cable, etc, etc. I always carry a scary sharp one and a dullish beater
