A while back Running-Boar (who doesn't post much here lately) and Doc-Canada were talking about the merits of baldrics for knife carry (I think Bear-the Dog like them too). I believe Running Boar liked them for smaller FBs while paddling a canoe and Doc wears one with Machax as result of bum back that makes belt wear uncomfortable. I got a Machax as a gift a while back and Ilbruche made me a Baldric with a pouch. I've just got serious about wearing it and have to say its good. I find wearing a knife the size and weight of the Machax on my belt uncomfortable after a while, but the baldric distributes the weight in such way that it is very friendly to wear. I thought the knife might shift around when bending or that the knife might slap against my side, neither is the case. The rig is comfortable over the right shoulder for casual wear and great when worn across the chest too. I added a carbon steel trade knife to the front of the rig for fine cutting chores, and am still playing with the content of the pouch. In any case, with the renewed interest in baldrics, I vote that Doc-Canada receive royalties from all current makers
