We've already had 5 or 6 people killed in the last year or so, which doesn't seem like a big deal until it happens to a friend or loved one. Fortunately we do have an open season on them now to reduce the adult population.

Doesn't really work that way... it would appear that tourists are the feed, and with those... one gets eaten, five more go looking for the spot to take photos...

Visitors are always easier targets. Sadly, a few months ago a couple from Nebraska watched their two year old son get dragged into the water and killed by a gator here while they were staying at Disney World. If I had a chance I think I could have killed that gator with the Ratweiler I got from Jerry.

If you look back through some of my threads I have posted some pics of the warning signs that are most common up in the NT here, they are in multi language and use "safety man" pictures to show what may happen if you venture too close to the water. But the Numpties just keep on doing it. Last time I was up there I was trying to warn some folks that teh spot they were WADING was not at all safe and there was a croc close by (he was a large 4.5m lizard) for my trouble I got told to f%ck off so I did and set up my camera, may as well record the event now. I ended up missing it on camera but the lizard DID appear (clearly he was not hungry at the time or one of them would have been lunch) and there was an element of yelling and dropping of fishing rods that went on, at that point I was cheering on the lizard.

I can see holding one as grail but it's amazing and fulfilling to use your knives. With every use it adds character to those high priced knives and when their blades do amazing things under stress, high humidity, human sweat and human neglect you really begin to admire them. I think most knife designers want you to abuse their knives. They even beg us to abuse them at least our US knife makers. I only have one grail and I barely give it any attention. The ones I use often or abused are always my favorites because they keep on performing.

Mine get use from time to time.

Killed an 8-pointer last Friday, fat ash worked great on the pelvic bone.

My TGLB spends a good amount of time on my side in the woods, probably my favorite Busse.

This is what happens when you throw and one lands on top of the other

That's a great picture , took me awhile to figure out wasn't all red g10.:p Like on Santa's outlaw wicked, on phone. Would be cool if they could make a micarta that deep red with other colors mixed in, though guess snake skin is kinda like that.

I've had my SOB for just under a week, and used the hell out of it so far. I work in the mountains and desert, so I tend to beat the hell out of all my knives. Wanted a Busse, because they are supposed not to break, and they'll fix or replace them if they do.

From my experience trying to buy one unsuccessfully for months, I'd wager most guys don't use them. Anytime a seller lists them at a reasonable price, you've got buyers snapping them up 2 to 3 at a time. Saw one sale where a guy bought 4. Can't imagine these guys are using all those knives... Nothing wrong with collecting, though. Beyond being tough, they make real pretty knives. Don't think I've ever admired a knife while I'm using it like I do with the Busse...

Bad ass! What is that a fridge?

A long time ago I hacked a fridge into pieces with my basic 9 just to see if I could. It had no problems. Didn't even ding the edge.

Didn't even think to take pics (way back before I even had a cell phone, and most didn't have cameras anyway). I didn't bring the digital camera.
