Does anyone actually USE their Busse knives?

Bad ass! What is that a fridge?

A long time ago I hacked a fridge into pieces with my basic 9 just to see if I could. It had no problems. Didn't even ding the edge.

Didn't even think to take pics (way back before I even had a cell phone, and most didn't have cameras anyway). I didn't bring the digital camera.

No it was a microwave. Seems like nothing is made to last these days. I had micros at work that were 30 years old. The new stuff lasts about 7 years.

Well they might last longer if you wouldn't skewer the sucker with INFI! ;)

Seriously, nice throw. I watched all your videos, and I'd love to be able to throw a blade like that! I'm all thumbs when it comes to chit like that.

It is just lots of practice. You determine what one rotation is in distance and then you can extend your distance with multiple rotations. I know one rotation for me is about 10-11 ft. 21-22ft is two rotations. But if I am throwing lets say in between, I give the blade a hard flick, and it increases the rotation speed to hit in between.

I started doing this because I did not have throwing knives in camping trips and we all wanted to throw when hanging out. I had the SHBM, so we would all take turns throwing it. That's how it started. many thousands of throws later, I was able to consistently stick it. I broke lots of knives doing this. But those knives were not intended for throwing. The SHBM was really the only survivor. I even tried throwing Khukuris, but I could never get them down perfect.

I throw my ASHBM and son of dogfather. I've got 2 large oak rounds probably around 36" that i use. Never bent the tips yet. Did have the handle scale on the ASHBM shift a little from a bad throw but i knocked it back into place with a plastic mallet.

I've had my SOB for just under a week, and used the hell out of it so far. I work in the mountains and desert, so I tend to beat the hell out of all my knives. Wanted a Busse, because they are supposed not to break, and they'll fix or replace them if they do.

From my experience trying to buy one unsuccessfully for months, I'd wager most guys don't use them. Anytime a seller lists them at a reasonable price, you've got buyers snapping them up 2 to 3 at a time. Saw one sale where a guy bought 4. Can't imagine these guys are using all those knives... Nothing wrong with collecting, though. Beyond being tough, they make real pretty knives. Don't think I've ever admired a knife while I'm using it like I do with the Busse...

I just bought one in Competition Finish from an awesome member here. It is now--without a doubt--my new favorite everyday carry. I find it big enough to handle larger tasks with ease but at the same time its all packaged into a 4in blade. Small enough to not weigh down my belt or get in the way...I have owned mine for about a week or so too. And you are right that its a real looker too!

Skinned out a few deer last weekend with an Elmax steak knife. Was planning on using a WTH to see how it did but I left my one bag at home and when we got to deer camp all I had was the elmax blade in the bottom of the bag from last year. Of course it performed great. Just was wanting to try something new. Oh well, still lots of season left.
