Does anyone EDC a fixed blade?

I've carried a Busse Skeleton Warden along with a folder for quite a while now. I just recently picked up a Jeremy Horton EDC that I've been carrying along with the Skelly Warden and I couldn't be happier. In all honesty, I'm very close to selling most of my folders and going to small fixed blades primarily.

I also carry my Busse BATAC when I can.

Fixed blades FTW!

I carry a small fixed blade every day but I'm really excited about one I just bought off of "knivesandstuff" on YouTube (he resides in New Zealand). He picked up a number of Svord Peasant folders, converted them into fixed blades, and gave each of them a convex grind. He even made and threw in a leather strop loaded with compound for free! Very cool guy.

I carry a small fixed blade a lot of the time; not always. Something along the lines of a Game Warden usually.

I also have a few *really* small fixed blades that get carried - like a Burnley Mini Quaik and a couple of Bear Cubs.

My Dozier Straight Personal has been a faithful companion. I just don't think it can be beaten. I bought a Dozier Companion and the SP just works better for me as an EDC.

I also have a Bark River ELK that needs a better carry sheath/method, and it would be carried more often. But it does not compare to the Dozier SP in ability, fit or feel.

I've EDCed a mora clipper twice, with the sheath clip in my watch pocket. Very nice configeration. But It's too wierd to pull it out.

I think an Izula, or a small JK knife would be great...but St. Paul forbids it...

Here is my EDC knife:

Sometimes I switch it out for this one:

They are both Busse Satin Jack Tacs. The first one has their Competition Finish, with a convex edge, the other is standard with Magnum Handles. That's an IWB sheath. It works really well.

I sometimes EDC a Fallkniven F1 and when my BRKT Gunny gets here I will EDC that as well. I think a 3.8 inch fixed blade is a perfect daily companion.

O'yeah, Busse AD in some Rainwalker goodness. Carries inside the waistband.

as soon as I can land a proper clip for the Becker Necker so i can attach it somehow to my belt I will be trying my hand at edc'ing that unit. I don't want to neck carry it.

RC-4s and F1s as EDCs??? what jobs do you guys have?

You seem shocked.

These knives are not huge choppers. My JK hiker is pretty much the same size as a F1. It has a 3 7/8" blade and is 8 1/16" OAL, it will disapear under a untucked shirt with the pouch sheath tucked into my back pocket of my jeans.

For what its worth my job is in a warehouse I'm not a office worker.

But "need" does not dictate what I carry.I carry what I like,as long as it is legal of course.:)

In comparsion it is (in size only) slightly less "knife" than many large folders out there.

Are you as shocked if someone posts they EDC a Cara Cara or Buck 110 (or one of its clones)? Or is it just because these size fixed blades don't fold?

Shocked is probably too strong a sentiment - but I guess you said it when you mentioned that need doesnt dictate what you carry.

I couldnt see myself EDCing my F1- would be too cumbersome.

For me, its a BRKT Pro Scalpel II. The difference is size is very noticeable to me.

My old lady keeps a Jeff Hall Hellion on her keychain.

Soon I will have a custom SFC from Will Leavitte :D

I have 2 fixed blade edc's. I made both of them. I always have one or the other. The one I carry the most is a 7 1/2"oal damascus blade mammoth tusk handle knife I where in a pouch sheath on my belt. The other is a smaller damascus knife maybe about five inches oal that I made a kydex sheath with tek-lok. I carry it also on my belt in a cross draw style. I like both very much and both are very handy to have. I live more in a rural area and have not had any trouble from anyone about carrying it. It is leagal here to pack one so I don't worry about it. I'll have to post some pics!

I rotate between two FB as EDC. I rarely carry a folder anymore. The two I carry are both Doziers. One is the Whittler, and the other is the reverse tanto. Both are very good knives, I love them as EDC. I do have another Dozier on Order that will go in as a third rotationl. Its the Arkansas Traveler. All have the Horizontal kydex sheath. People never see the knife on me.

I wear a small fixed Ruana on my belt when it's warm enough that I don't need a vest or jacket. Under a jacket or vest, it's considered "concealed" and I don't need that hassle so in cooler weather I switch to a folder, although one often worn on my belt in a sheath made by G2. Apparently a folder in a belt sheath is not considered 'concealed.'

During the week I have to wear a suit, and go in and out of metal detectors, so I'm limited to what I can carry. When not at work and in jeans I usually carry either a Benchmade Outbounder or a Nimvarus Cub.
