Does anyone EDC a fixed blade?

as soon as I can land a proper clip for the Becker Necker so i can attach it somehow to my belt I will be trying my hand at edc'ing that unit. I don't want to neck carry it.

If you have the new KABAR BK11, get the KABAR TDI Clip. It will fit the new necker's sheath and works brilliantly on the insde of the waistband, or on the outside of the belt.

thanks for that. I contacted my cutler and he is putting aside a clip as well as a knife. picking it up tomorrow.

My preferred placement for EDC is IWB, at the appendix. (1 or 2 o'clock) My first FB, was the Gerber Guardian, double-edged dagger. Back in high school. Then I "got into" knives.

I thought, "This Gerber was only fifty bucks - it must really suck."

I traded it away, and for the last 15 years or so, I've been looking for it's replacement.

Tried the Al Mar SERE Fixed, but it was just too big to be comfortable.

Sometimes I carry the Cold Steel Spike Scimitar IWB, with a short tether of cord - short enough so that it retains the sheath in my pants, when I withdraw the blade. I like it better that way.

I really like the ball end, and the size of the handle. I wish the blade had some more metal on it though.

I have went back to the Gerber Guardian. I don't like that it's a double edge, but the adjustable tension sheath is the bomb, and the clip is so good it can be used without a belt, and it holds the sheath tight, for quick draw out of the pants.

The Guardians are cheap, and stealth, and sharp. They can be sheathed in ambidextrously.

Also the rubberized handle on the Gerber is really comfortably against your skin, if you're just wearing a t-shirt, and the dagger is under it.

I have been carrying a fixed blade for the last couple years. I am careful about what city I am in to make sure I don't break any laws. I have not been hassled or even questioned by any leo's concerning my carry blade. I think if you watch yourself and don't get into the wrong situations you are fine if it is legal in your area.

My current carry rotation consists of a Gossman WTK, Koster Bushcrafter or my new Fiddleback Bushcrafter. I try to stay in the 3-4" length area.

The best most interesting thing about carrying a FB knife is when a NKP looks at it with a confused face and asks "How does it close?"

I picked up a Pocket Filer about a month back, it's great to EDC with a pair of jeans but a little more difficult with casual or business pants, due to the angle of the pocket. But with jeans, it's awesome with the included kydex sheath. Not a big knife, but that's what the KaBar in the bag/car is for.

The maker is a real gentleman to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to deal with.
