Does anyone know Rotte?

Wow - this, as usual, is amazing.

I cut the leather today and then found out my contact cement was toast. So - I will pick up more tomorrow. I will give you my inspiration for this piece:

I will post more as I have more.

Sheath is done. Pics tomorrow as the edging is drying. I am deeply proud of this sheath and its design. It has been a LONG time since I bent some leather. I will update with pics and plans tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for their patience.

When you're ready to ship, lets include a Fiddleback Forge hat in the package as well.

I'm in. I like Rotte, we've talked a few times. It was his give away of the BLJ and a special Randall that inspired me to take a higher road with my last give away and gift that DF to a young father who was taking his kid to the bush in the winter but the knives he posted would have never survived building a shelter for that kid if the need arose. I have missed talking to Rotte, but I had completely forgotten that the last time we talked he said he was going to be gone for a while.

Here are the pictures of the completed sheath:

I went with a shield design, as alluded to above, and set up the sheath so that it could be reversed if needed (Left hand or Right hand carry). The design is taken from the old Kite Long Shields that were carried in the medieval times. I flared the bottom to not only trace the humpback of the blade - but bring out the Greek Short Sword design of my logo. Rotte wears a 1.5 inch belt - so I set the belt loop to be set at that width. The bottom has a weep / drainage hole and the stitching stops before the hole for aesthetic reasons. I am not sure if he wears a dangler on his sheaths - but I included one anyway. He wanted simple - so I didn't do any stamping or other design work on the face to muddy what he wanted.

I hope he likes it.

In terms of payment. There are a lot of people who wanted in - and one person even sent me 15 dollars already.

Here is what we will do - send 10 dollars, via paypal to jmoulenbelt (at) hotmail (dot) com if you want. To make it easy - send it as a gift. If there is any overage - I will donate the overage to a veterans fund in his name - or - if I get enough - and it is decided - maybe we can order another knife from Andy. ;)

Does that sound cool?

That sheath is beautiful.

I just got off the phone with Paypal. They appear to be updating their site and it isn't allowing me to log on. I will try again in an hour or so.

That does sound cool. And the sheath is gorgeous! Thanks for doing this!

Paid $10. Send me your addy so I can send you a hat to stick in there.

The sheath looks awesome!! I need to have you do a dangler for one of my Fiddlebacks soon.

Oh, and $10.00 sent.

Talfuchre?

I don't do PayPal.

Could you PM me an address to which to send $10?

Thanks.
