Does anyone like Ka-Bar?

They are 1095. :thumbup::thumbup:

The ZK (Zombie Knives) are NOT 1095 CroVan. They are SK5 or 1080 high carbon, which ever name you like better. It's a very fine high carbon steel as well. RC on them will be 57-58.

The ZK folder is AUS8A at 56-58.

THE GREATEST SITE for Kabar products bar none. It's all they sell.

Kabar is my favorite knife company by far, especially for fixed blades. No one else compares, IMO. If I'm spending more $$ than what something from Kabar costs, that means I bought a custom knife.

Just curious are they full tang? I dont really want to buy one and then the handle snap off under some stress.

Get yourself a KaBar Becker BK2. You aren't going to break it unless you do something silly like throw it. It will do everything you are likely to need to do and they don't cost a ton.

You will be glad you did.

I got a few Kabars . The 7" Kabar combat knife is a classic. If you're only gonna own one Kabar , that's the one. I have 2 Dozier zytel Hunters. Best folders I've ever bought for the money.

Which knives are you wondering about?

Becker, FIN, Johnson, ZK are all full length, full width tangs.

The rest of the knives are a full length stick tang. Military, Shorty's, Next Gen, etc.

Whoops. My bad, I thought I heard in the vid that they were 1095. :o

the kabar heavy bowie is my go to woods knife can be had for around 50.00 easy to maintain(even with coating stripped off) holds an edge, easy to sharpen,
great steel and a good grip to the handle.

I've beat the hell outta this thing for five years, chopping, batonning, and various other forms of mistreatment and it has never let me down.

draw backs sheath is fairly cheap and blade made in china, but I guess this helps keep cost down

Also do you guys prefer the stacked leather handle or does the rubber handle hold up just as well?

Unrelated to the current discussion, but KA-BAR has some of the best customer service PERIOD. I misplaced my Remora sheath, called them and they shipped me one out right away without me having to barely ask. Can't beat that.

I am a Ka-Bar fan, particularly the Beckers. The BK2 is one of my favorite knives, and one of the best survival knives in its price range.

Love em' was my bayonet when I was on active duty and would be one of my last grabs out the door if the balloon went up.

Hey Guys. I am a U.S Marine Sergeant and me and some of my buddies took some different Ka-Bars on Deployment and they didn't last but, a few months. The blades bent pretty easily and the handles didn't quite hold up to what we asked of them. We had part of the tang break on one of them.

A lot of us went to different companies after that, like cold steel or buck or gerber.

I don't remember Ka-Bar being that way growing up. We don't really swear by them anymore. In Vietnam it was a different story. There were some new knifes that came out for the seals that we were trying to get a hold of a the time.

This is just our perspective on this. Not set in stone but, things changed and we expect a lot out of what we have. Any Marine will tell you this.

Semper Fidelis!!!

I like the Ka-bar.
The Ka-bar 1213,1222,5011.
They are great knives.Agile ,that is what it is to me.
Lightweight,VERY good grip.
If you don't hammer on it as if it's an anvil (it's a knife), then you should be fine with it.
I would take it into combat over many full width tang blades.
