Does anyone share my appreciation for Strider Knives, or just Frame Locks?

As to the broader question about frame locks, one of my three Spyderco Military's is titanium with the Reeve Integrated Lock and steel insert. It locks up just fine but no better than my standard Milis which are much lighter. Thus you gain "coolness" but lose the benefits of the light weight. When I get around to selling a bunch of my tactical style knives the Ti Mili will be the first to go.

I recently picked up a Ti Military and you are absolutely correct about the weight! There is also definitely some cool factor to Ti tools, I dig the look and feel! Anyways, do you see any value or quality to the enhanced materials? I guess what I am asking is, for a few more bucks, is the titanium strength worth it or do you not agree its a has the added value?

Sal says there isn't any difference in the strength, between the regular Military and the Ti model.

The only real difference is the feeling in hand. Some relate the extra heft to a feeling of security but, as Jill mentioned above, even Sal doesn't claim it to be stronger.

I think the only way you'd see a difference is if you ran it through a test that was designed to stress it until it broke. But in your regular day-to-day, you'll never see a difference.

Heh Jill. I grew up in farm country too. I'm a tall big fat guy. Striders aren't comfortable to me. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

I call Bull-crap! If it's cheap enough I can overlook what I'm bitching about. Either stick to your guns or bow out. Your hypocrisy is "cheap".
I like the knives. The man I don't know and if I were to scrutinize every owner/CEO/etc.. I'd likely be naked and hungry!

Yes, I love both! Like I've stated before, I most certainly prefer a frame lock to a liner lock but I feel something like the Benchmade Axis lock is ultimately the best of all types. Easy to actuate, reliable, and strong.

I admire the Axis lock also but prefer the simplicity of the R.I.L. Less parts.

I just came across this older thread (while doing some research of a prospective buyer), which brought me to this thread which I surprisingly, hadn't read.

My only intention for reviving this older thread, is to post a big "THANK YOU," to Steve (Retired Guns), for his service for our Country (beings I missed out on Veteran's Day here). It doesn't have to be November 11th, to say: "thank you!"

Steve, is one of the BladeForum member's, whom I have thee utmost respect for; for both his service, and his vast knowledge of knives!
SEMPER FI! OORAH!!!
