Does anyone share my appreciation for Strider Knives, or just Frame Locks?

Awe, gee, just when I thought I had it all figured out. I'm getting too old for this stuff. Now, is a suckerfish someone who misses out on a good knife for reasons other than the knife itself or is it someone who buys a knife in spite of other factors? I got the "hater" down pretty well. That's anyone who doesn't agree with your point of view. Er. . . . with my point of view. . . Er. . . . and just when I thought I had it down.

I really don't see why they don't ban all discussion, sale anything to do with Strider knives here. Anytime someone makes a thread about liking them, the group that hates them comes in and destroys it. That's not tolerated in any other brand specific threads in General Knife Discussion. Even the Chinese brands (non-counterfeit) are allowed to be discussed without members disrupting the threads. Why not just ban them being mentioned period?

A couple of dissenting opinions does not constitute a "group that hates them". Look at the recent threads on the subject and you'll see that the negative opinions are in the minority. One negative post and the Striderettes are up in arms about the "haters". Why not just ignore them and go on with your lives?

I'm hardly a "Striderette" I have one out of a few hundred knives. I call any of them as I see them. But, I do know in the Chinese made knife threads these same members have been told to stay out of them if they can't add anything besides trying to stir, up crap.

I reckon one person's "attempt to voice an honest opinion" is another's "stir up crap." I see posts all the time bringing up Spyderco holes and Benchmade omega springs and Cold Steel's videos and all opinions are considered valid. Why should Strider get special treatment?

Yep.^ The hate gets spread around.
Hit the ignore button.
Do you recall the time when Phill Hartsfield's blades were ridiculed? It got bad! But, it passed.

I never said Strider should, I just think whenever all threads winds up linking the same thing and saying the same things about the knives by the same people, they might as well be banned from a site for discussion. That's my opinion. Which doesn't really matter.

I guess the point I would make is that all opinions matter.

I'm on the opposite side of the fence on this super serious matter(:D)but it is just discussion and the OP said he wanted ALL opinions.

Striderettes was a bit much though bro:p

They are well made knives, but not finished well. Too many hot spots for me. I had a couple PT's, a couple SNGs and one SMF. This past summer, I bought two SNG CCs, one a 3/4 grind, the other a flat grind. I really liked mine, and might have kept the flat grind, if it had a plain blade. I just couldn't justify owning an SNG or SMF, with fit and finish below that of my CRKs, for the same amount of money. If I can find a used CC model, for much less, with a plain blade, I might get another SNG or SMF. Right now, unless I find a very good deal on one, I'll save my $.

I call Bull-crap! If it's cheap enough I can overlook what I'm bitching about. Either stick to your guns or bow out. Your hypocrisy is "cheap".
I like the knives. The man I don't know and if I were to scrutinize every owner/CEO/etc.. I'd likely be naked and hungry!

I'm not sure how an opinion can be right or wrong but ok, feel free to call me whatever you like if it makes you feel better about yourself.

And I don't scrutinize every CEO or owner of companies, just the ones that come to the place I already am at and start shoving their poor attitudes and lies down my throat, as he did on the Internet forum that I own and several that I'm a member of.

Also yes, I would overlook a lack of morals or character if the quality of the thing was worth it's asking price but I'm a man of dubious morals, as you've pointed out. All goods have a price/worth ratio, if that ratio is good enough I'll buy regardless of personal opinion.

Please feel free to enjoy Strider knives though. While I feel they are overpriced no one can argue that they are well made and quality "kit." Each man should make his own decisions, based on both facts and opinions.

Did Hartsfield also have fans who likened his travails to the persecution of Jesus?

I like my SnG and SmF.
I might not like the person who makes/designs them, but I don't buy people. :)

The perfect answer and if Mick would have left my forum out of his tirades back in the day it probably would have been my exact post in this thread. Well, except mine would have had pictures of and probably just been two SnG's. :)

I know what post your referring to. You misunderstood it then ran with it like a looter with a TV during a riot. You misunderstood a friend of mine, please don't continue to bastardize his words to carry forth whatever thin argument you hold dear to your heart.

I don't get the comparison between Strider and CR. They seem like totally different knives to me, made for totally different people and tasks.

Yeah, surely doesn't always have to be a competition as many (like me) love both.

I like 'em tough and refined.

I keep looking at Striders, but there are soooo many posts of people having to send them back for adjustments! Worries me! I really do like the looks of them! I'll snag one soon, I'm sure... :)

I am a recent framelock addict... all started with a Sniper Bladeworks Scott at usamadeblade turned me onto. WOW!
