Does this make any sense? I want something identical that I already have

I’ve never been someone to buy multiple of the same model of knife, whether identical or in a different steel etc, except I received a PM2 in a trade that I planned (and need) to sell.

However, my R&H Knives Tasca 2 has me rethinking. The knife begs to be used, and I kinda want one I'm Elmax to keep my damasteel pretty. Cost is high, and it was an 8 month wait for mine.

To be honest, I'm being ridiculous, and have already been using the damasteel one and probably won't buy another.

If you really like it, and are worried about losing it, buy another.

No one in this hobby is truly sane, least of all me. I'm your friendly neighborhood functioning psycho.

I do have two SHF Plague Doctors, both 3.25". I bought the green one and immediately decided it was too nice to use; so I bought a blue one and stuck it in my pocket right away (then sent it back for warranty work, then stuck it back in my pocket again).


Would I have bought two of the exact same knife? I have...2x Camillus Brutes, 2x Camillus Patrol Machetes, 3x Ritter RSK2 Perseverance (aka BK12). I have 3x (I think) ZT 0550s, but they're all visibly different. I have a good handful of PM2s - all with different blade steels and handles. Three SRK&T Rodent 3s & 2x Rodent 6 (the third was stolen) - all with different handles.
Ask me what I think about the RMD, and I'll simply tell you it's a great knife...

I remembered seeing a post by somebody with a bunch of RMDs - I went looking and found this. (I figured that was the guy to which @Andy the Aussie was referring)

Mskes perfect sense. I have 4 sebenzas, 2 shiro f3ns, 2 manix 2s, 2 ab imambas.. if i like it i buy several. I do try to get different variations, but its not mandatory!

There's also a smaller SpyderPac that holds 18 (instead of 30) knives which I found was a more manageble size.

I use 9 small SpyderPacs to store the 142 Spyderco folders currently in my collection (including room for a few more) in my gun safe.

But there are no IDENTICAL dups in them. Only variants of certain models that I like and consider "collectible." ;)
