simply answered,we all share, have 6 separate desk tops, hubby,me,son, daughter, friend, unclaimed(guest). If you dont log out, just switch users,ALL pgs, sites, everything is up for grabs.I thought you all would know this.So if I just switch and go make dinner, son, daughter, friend, guest, can click on my icon go to my desk top, click where they want to go with no passwords, nothing,Yall know this right?I have a dell deminsion, pent 4 pross.I could add 1 more to our start up if we needed. So no need there.I share my computer with others(friends not in home) so her kids can do homework, research, she can pay bills.Do yall get it.That is why we all are on the same computer. And CONFUSSION you aint kidding I did think,That after we had it all set up in 6-05,we worked out all the bugs.Well how far from worked out bugs could I be.Now next one??????
Wow, thanks for the computer lesson. Maybe we can set up a forum where you can explain all about how to use these newfangled "confuzers" to us yokels. But, getting back to my last post, the question was not really how you're all using the same user name, but why?

You can't share an account. If someone asks to use your account tell them to open their own account and post under their own name; it only takes a couple of minutes to open a account here. Unless you can be sure that no one you don't have complete trust in can get access to your computer, be sure to log out every time you leave Bladeforums.

I've been watching this trainwreck for a while now, and I haven't had anything very productive to add until now.

This is what you (Don and knifemaking family) need to do. Stop using the BladeForums accounts/names you've used so far. Not only are they confusing, but there's plenty of negative sentiment associated with them. Each of you (Don, other individuals) start your own BladeForums account/name and make the screen name consist of just your own name, like most other knifemakers here do. If your name is Don Smith, then your screen name should be Don Smith. You get the idea.

If you follow that advice, and you treat forum identities with the respect they deserve (e.g., nobody pretending to be someone else), this whole mess will be forgotten soon enough. By most folks, anyway.

For the record, folks, I don't think Don acually posts here.

I think the knifemaker membership under the username of knivesismilivesbydon is Kristy, and she is the one doing the webpage, and posting using Don's name.

In other words, Kristy is Don's webmaster.

I think that this is what is going on, in addition, Kristy has a house full of people who don't have internet or computer experience.

Now, she has admitted that the user name of lovemykallday came from someone who has access to her computer, and that should be good enough. We need to let this one go, folks. Kristy seems a bit overwhelmed by this forum stuff, and wants to get her dad's name out there.

Kristy, until you become more savvy on the computer, I highly suggest you limit your posting to the Knifemaker for sale area, limiting your posts there to what Don has available for sale, pictures of the available knives, and contact information. This will help you come across to the members here in a professional manner.

You also need to make sure when you are done on Bladeforums, you log out of the forums by clicking on the 'log out' button on the right side of the page, near the top. This will prevent others from using your account here, and causing you difficulty.

Thanks.

Anyone else notice that there was supposed to be a transaction here? where did the 12 year old come up with the cash, or more importantly, how did he get it to Don?

To all the folks using this username, you have been caught in deception, deception seems easy with the relative annonymity of the interenet. And without forum moderators, who have the ability to check such private information as IP addresses, it would be easy to pull the wool over the eyes of the unsuspecting, However, there is no explaination here except intentional deception.

The more you deny the details of this, the less respect I have for you.

From one knife maker to another; Please admit wrong, and let this pass, everytime you deny it, you insult the inteligence of everyone in this comunity.

/Rant mode off/
he told me copy, paste from other people

For what it is worth gents I have bought from these folks and it was a very good transaction. That said,no I don't like some of the sales practices that have gone on in the threads.I hope they can have a fresh start and take the ball and run with it.Live and learn.

Well that was something to watch!

I don't think any real harm was done.

Less talk, more knives!

I have a Scagel style hunter made by Don and it is a very nice knife. I would not hesitate to buy more. :D
