After trying the 710 in a knife store, I really liked it and wanted to have one. Since I have the Amazon pirme, so I went to their website and found that the price was pretty good on the satin finish D2 version. After 2 days of waiting, the package arrived and I soon realized that the tip of the blade is bended, I suck at taking pictures but you guys should be able to see it in the following pics. I returned this one and required an exchange, and in 2 days it arrived with the same problem, so I think all they have in stock now are blems, I wanna share this with those who are planning to buy this item on Amazon, go somewhere else!

That sucks.

I would have sent it to Benchmade with a note saying "Please fix" and telling them of my Amazon plight.

Wow thats crazy. Thanks for the heads up... I would send an email to benchmade they may be able to sort you out.

Jeez you're picky was my first thought. Maybe it looks like a lot less than it is in the pictures.

How would you like to pay $120 for a pair of pants to realize that one leg is 2 inches shorter than the other? It's the same kind of thing here. No matter the cost of the knife, this kind of thing is why I tell people to stay away from Amazon when it comes to knives. It's always better to order from a real deal knife store and save yourself the anxiety of wondering what kind of defect you will be getting. :thumbdn:

Yea, I sure learned a good lesson. The reason I trust Amazon is that I bought a Kershaw Skyline and a Spyderco Centofante 3 from them before, and they are all fine, but recently I've had some problems, 1st is a rusted Coldsteel Spartan, then it's the 710 bent tip...:(

Send it Amazon and get your $ back. You can find a better one at any knife store mentioned as "Good" on the forums.

Honestly, I don't think it has anything to do with Amazon directly. I'd be willing to bet that Amazon got the knife in that condition. I've bought many many things from amazon over the years and have never had a problem. That's buying from Amazon direct AND some of their "authorized dealers"...Of course, that's not to say that some Amazon warehouse guy didn't unpack one of those Benchmades to use to pry open a crate or something...:D

I also have purchased a few knives from Amazon over the years and I never had a problem.

Sounds like a fluke.

I would definately return for a refund.

Do you think that maybe you got the same knife back?

Just keep sending them back to Amazon, they will replace it at no charge and refund you the return shipping costs. They make good on the things they sell and cant help it if they get defective knives from Benchmade. I returned a damaged $1400 lap top computer to them last month that UPS delivered and they shipped the replacement no charge Fed-Ex., refunded me the return costs, and gave me a $15 store credit for my trouble.

I wonder if it was returned, and Amazon didn't check it.

I bought a 940 and HK 14210 from Amazon, and both came pristine.

I'm wondering the same thing--it may have been returned, put back on the shelf, and then you were the first person to (re)order another one, so someone else grabbed the same box to ship out. All the same, still a great big :thumbdn: of a situation.

Damn I ordered this knife a couple days ago from amazon, too late to cancel it. I'll let you know how it goes.

price was too good to be true I guess.
