i know what was sent and so does he..
Cosmic Superchunk said:I think the seller should have described "in detail" what was up with the knife before offering it up for sale. Was komputerkop up front with details like the linerlock engaging all the way to the right? He swears that the tip was not bent when he mailed it. How do you explain a bent tip if the Priority Mail envelope was sealed?

I also have the text that komputerkop originally posted and then edited if anyone wants to see it.![]()

That would be a tough one. I go back to what I said about the 72 hour examination period being the rule and not the exception, and especially where a high dollar knife is concerned. How do you explain a bent tip if the Priority Mail envelope was sealed?

You as the seller should have been up front with all the details of the knife. All you said was that it was in 90% shape and that it had some scuffs. Where did you describe the condition of the lock engagement. Did you really not notice that bent tip or do you think Uri Geller got his hands on the package? Sorry man, I'm with Danbo on this one.

I sold a Sebenza Stars & Stripes a couple of months ago that had some minor rubbing on the back side of the slabs. If I would have heard one word of complaint from the buyer (after telling him about it before we did the trade), it would have been sent back with no questions asked. Gladly. QUOTE]
SAME HERE..if it was THE liner that he didn't like..i would GLADLY take it back because an INFORMED buyer would know that about Pat's KFF..but, i am NOT going to take back a BENT knife that SOMEONE ELSE BENT.. you talk a big talk..i bet you wouldn't take it back if they wrote you the blade was bent would you? i am no different!
THINK ABOUT IT!
I wholeheartedly agree. Knife collecting/buying/selling/trading is supposed to be fun and recreational for heaven's sake. It should not be a way to "get over" on someone else. I also agree with the 72-hour grace period but I concede that it should be stated up front so that both parties are comfortable with that approach. It's kind of like playing cards in college, just because you played Spades or Poker a certain way doesn't mean that someone from halfway across the country would adhere to the same rules. Communication is the second most important thing with any transaction. Of course, honesty is numero uno.geegee said:A knife trade has to leave both parties satisfied or it's not worth doing.
