Don't deal with KomputerKop!

That sucks Dan, sorry to hear you got screwed by this guy. In his original post he says "blade looks about perfect" - with a tip bent like that he call's it perfect?!? What an a-hole.

And yet, he SWEARS up and down that he personally wiped the blade down and checked everything out before packing it up. So, how did the knife arrive at my door packaged up, closed and with a bent tip? :barf:

I also disagree that a knife can always be sent back because the buyer doesn't like the look or feel. This would have to be agreed upon beforehand. The liner travelling far to the right is also not a defect in my opinion. So that just leaves the bent tip, which is obviously a problem and should have been disclosed.

Just to be clear, that's not the reason Danbo is asking for his money back. I shouldn't have brought it up.

I think the seller should have described "in detail" what was up with the knife before offering it up for sale. Was komputerkop up front with details like the linerlock engaging all the way to the right? He swears that the tip was not bent when he mailed it. How do you explain a bent tip if the Priority Mail envelope was sealed?

never mind..not worth it..

i know what was sent and so does he..

I believe Danbo.

I also have the text that komputerkop originally posted and then edited if anyone wants to see it. :D

HOW ABOUT BY THE BUYER..EVER CONSIDER THAT? :footinmou

NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT HAS HAPPENED!

LASTLY, ALL CRAWFORD KNIVES in the KFF series have DEEPLY recessed liner locks..it would be helpful and stop some bullsheeto, if people EVER cared to do some research on the forum before POSTING..is this not one of their intended purposes?

I WILL STICK BY IT..THE BLADE WAS NOT BENT when it was shipped..and that is THAT..

AF , is ALSO CORRECT..sellers DO NOT give in to buyer's remorse and worse...when buyers intentionally damage goods to cover their steps!

THER WAS NO THREE DAY EVER OFFERED OR DISCUSSED..it was sold as "used"..no warranties were offered or expressed..period!

LASTLY, i will bring this forum down for slander if these unprovable and unjustified OPINIONS of slander don't cease!

i will not put up with it..

Here's the thread where he described the blade as "looking about perfect.":

You as the seller should have been up front with all the details of the knife. All you said was that it was in 90% shape and that it had some scuffs. Where did you describe the condition of the lock engagement. Did you really not notice that bent tip or do you think Uri Geller got his hands on the package? Sorry man, I'm with Danbo on this one.

woo....wow, that is impressive..

show it..i have nothing to hide..it just isn't worth it to listen to narrow minded people talk about things and chime in on issues they have NO business in..

THAT IS WHY IT WAS EDITED..

yes..and i STICK BY THAT..NO DENIAL HERE!

LOOK WHAT I SAID..90% and I LISTED SCUFFS to the knife..so why would i go that route and list these and on the clip and and not list the bent blade?

why don't you and some others use a little common sense here..

That would be a tough one. I go back to what I said about the 72 hour examination period being the rule and not the exception, and especially where a high dollar knife is concerned.

I sold a Sebenza Stars & Stripes a couple of months ago that had some minor rubbing on the back side of the slabs. If I would have heard one word of complaint from the buyer (after telling him about it before we did the trade), it would have been sent back with no questions asked. Gladly.

A knife trade has to leave both parties satisfied or it's not worth doing. I'd much rather have the other guy say I sent him a knife that didn't look as good as I described it, but then did the right thing and returned his money with no discussion. What will others say? That perhaps my 95% is their 90%? That happens, but it's how you respond to a dissatisfied trader that says a lot more about you than your "grading ability." At least then he knows (as will everyone else) that I'll do right by the guys on the forum...that time and every time.

ARE YOU AN FOR REAL OR WHAT? WHO CARES WHO YOU ARE WITH..

I WAS AS I LISTED THE ACCURATE CONDITION..

NOTHING WRONG WITH THE LINER THAT IS NOT COMMON TO ALL KFF's..do some research before you open your trap?

YEAH..i didn't notice it because it WASN'T THERE..!
it might make you look like you know a LITTLE something..

SAME HERE..if it was THE liner that he didn't like..i would GLADLY take it back because an INFORMED buyer would know that about Pat's KFF..but, i am NOT going to take back a BENT knife that SOMEONE ELSE BENT.. you talk a big talk..i bet you wouldn't take it back if they wrote you the blade was bent would you? i am no different!

THINK ABOUT IT!

I wholeheartedly agree. Knife collecting/buying/selling/trading is supposed to be fun and recreational for heaven's sake. It should not be a way to "get over" on someone else. I also agree with the 72-hour grace period but I concede that it should be stated up front so that both parties are comfortable with that approach. It's kind of like playing cards in college, just because you played Spades or Poker a certain way doesn't mean that someone from halfway across the country would adhere to the same rules. Communication is the second most important thing with any transaction. Of course, honesty is numero uno. ;)

And THIS, ladies and Gentlemen, is exactly why I posted this story. The tip was bent when I opened the package. This means the tip was bent before he put it in the package.

ARE YOU GUYS BLIND?
EVERYONE IS MISSING THE POINT..I NOR ANYONE HERE WOULD TAKE BACK A KNIFE THAT SOMEONE ELSE DAMAGED...if he had said, it has too many scuffs or the liner is recessed too far..NO PROBLEM..

but to INFER that i sent him a bent knife and DEMAND to return it when i didn't...NO WAY..NOW HOW mister..you guys can be the CHUMP..NOT ME!

THIS IS CRAZY...

MODERATORS...keep my membership money and just remove me from this madness..i am through with it!

YEAH RIGHT Dan..SAYS YOU

Hi Jerry,
I dunno if the blade was bent or not,,truth is nobody knows but you. But,,don't you think that for the lousy $200 it woulda been better just to take it back and not have your rep damaged to the point that nobody would wanna deal with you?

Mr. kop,

You must be terminally optimistic if you expect to convince anyone who has been active here on Blade Forums that Danbo is not accurate in his presentation of the situation. He has earned the trust and support of many of us here through thoroughly smooth transactions with him and we appreciate his accurate descriptions, timely communications and expressed concern for the satisfaction of his sales/trading partner before the transaction is a done deal.

To clarify, I believe Dan and hope to deal with him in the future. I can't say the same for you.
