Don't Need No Bolsters!!!

This is a Taylors lambsfoot and it's got it all where it counts. Good steel, great fit and finish. Very solid.

The covers are my favorite part. They are very grippy and at first I thought it was some sort of micarta. Jack Black said it's actually a wood laminate. Really good stuff.

I'm sure it could be cleaned up but I kinda like it all used and stained lol.

I think that is the same pattern as I've had both. The nickel bolsters add about 5lbs to the thing! Haha. Shame someone was determined to sharpen the spine through the front of the blades there.....

Stan Shaw was actually at Wostenholm when they did those knives, and a couple of years before he died, he was given a box of parts by Mrs Slater, latterly of HM Slater, who had ended up with them somehow. The first time he offered to make me one I actually turned him down, but succumbed about a year later, as he had one already made (with Buffalo and polished blades and bolsters). It turned out to be the last knife I bought from Stan. I had ordered a Pruner from him, which I intended to give to Duncan Campbellclanman Campbellclanman , but the knife was never completed, as Stan sadly passed away at the end of 2020 (the blade for the knife is still on Stan's bench at the museum). I gave Duncan the Stockman when I last saw him 👍
