Buy a few, they layer really well. I have an old US army surplus one that is ~45 years old. It is in great shape and pretty heavy. They did get a little lighter in later years. I have used them quite a bit, and still like them. You could always mix them with poncho liners and you would have wool bulk and a more modern thermal barrier. I primarily go camping with just the 'cho liners here in Florida. Light and good to about 40°. For something in your truck, wool and 'cho liners would be good.

LOL, I read this and was reminded of my Infantry days. Many times we took the poncho and liner and got caught in colder weather.. Yeah, froze my butt off, but if you can imagine getting into a bag like that already sweaty and cold....then trying to warm up? There really is no escape.

My 24 handles this task regardless if there are knives on the table or not. I haven't used a restaurant supplied knife since I got my first 14. Also, the wife likes to use my 24 for the same tasks with her food and the kids food as well. She uses my 24 as much as I do yet refuses to carry one. I don't get women sometimes.

Widerstand picked that up at the BeckerWest gathering in April 2013. From who, I have no idea. I haven't seen Wider on here in a while (I think he's busy making tools and knives) but it might be worth it to shoot him a PM. Or, maybe the person who made/gave it to him might chime in. Good luck.

I had to order an EDC because of all the EDC talk.

I also had to try the bacon bowls, but mine turned out more like egg muffins. Durn tasty with some Tabasco and a little pico though.

I sent him a PM asking about it as soon as i found the picture!! Its really cool looking. I bet id play with it more than half my knives honestly. Being in the city a lot of my knives have to wait for the chance to get out and play, but id be chopping all types of stuff with that little guy right inside. I have already been thinking about how to make a sheath for it and maybe make it like a big keychain or necklace type thing.

Yea i dont doubt that at all, but im pretty sure he doesnt like me enough to do it LMAO or if he did it would charge me a million bucks just because im me :D

You'd be surprised how well Todd's business sense supersedes his personal feelings. Hell he still makes me knives, AND sells them to me at a durn good price!

Sitting in a motel room in Dayton having a Sierra Nevada Torpedo. Battled some shitty driving conditions today. Saw plenty of abandoned cars in the ditch from yesterday's storm and there were a number of stretches of road closed due to accidents. Pushing through to Chattanooga tomorrow. Hoping for better weather.
 
I found a few decent sized and heavier wool blankets before I went to bed this morning. I ordered two different ones to try out. Both were over 4lbs each and only $10 each. Then when I got up today I told my girlfriend I ordered them and she tells me that there are 3 or 4 US military blankets in one of her cedar chests. Then she tells me she has 2 really nice llama wool blankets too. I guess I'm set now!!
