Doug Ritter RSK MKII - SHIPPED !! - was:Don't Spend All Your Holiday Cash Just Yet...

considering that this might be the fabled BK12 come to life in another fashion from the ashes of Camillus, a lot of effort went into it to be a limited release, it would certainly be good to see this last a long time...

and perhaps not EXACTLY, but close to the middle guy? we'll find out soon.

Waiting... *refresh button* ...waiting...*refresh button* ...

I hate waiting. :D

Lol, I've been doing the same thing forever now.

To add, this knife has been in the making for 5-6 years now, hasn't it? Considering I just found out about it, the wait was pretty short!

This new knife sounds similar to the bk12. Is all this speculation or loosely based facts.

Pardon me....

AaaaahhhhHHHhhhhHhhhhHhHhHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Tell us already, the weekend is more than 50% done!!!!! Aaarrrrrggghhhhhh!!!!

*ahem* I'm ok. Looking forward to what surprises may hold.....:D

Just FMI... how does a pre-order work? Are you typically charged up front, or do you hold an order with your card and then get charged when the knife is shipped?

Not sure if there is a standard on this. I know Cutlery Shoppe doesn't charge you until the knife is actually shipped. Some places may charge you the second you submit the order, though I'd imagine that isn't a particularly popular option.

Hoping this isn't a preorder though and rather just a new release and in stock item.

I hope they call it the BK-12. These gaps in the integer sequence are driving me crazy.

Knifeworks pre-orders these days typically require a small ($20) non-refundable deposit with the full amount not charged until shipping. Years ago they were no-deposit but I think there have been a lot of "oh, I changed my mind" situations. :(

It's up......$120....

Not sure if you are joking or if I just can't find it on the site.

Nevermind, found it. It says this "The initial run is 100 knives and each is serialized. Whether there will be more produced depends entirely on how well these sell." Does that explain the initial price being $120? Seems high for what it is IMO. Though a very small initial offering may be why.

For those looking, it's under the Doug Ritter category.

Cool. A little pricier than I expected, but unless dawsonbob suddenly strokes out and mistakes me for his adopted son, it's about as close to a BK-12 as I'm going to get. :D I'm in.

ETA: I'm guessing price may drop if later runs are a go. That's IF later runs are a go. The knife is made by Rowen and costs about what a comparable ESEE (also made by Rowen) would set you back. It also features a blade balancing thingamabob that should be interesting.

I wound if the balancing thingamabob is compatible with the micarta handles. Can't tell of the waits protrude at all. I like that length/thickness, price is a bit much for me. Rather have a Magnum Camp and a BK7 or BK2 maybe. That or the MC with micarta and a spec-ops sheath. :D That is one combo I will have to pickup some day.
