Little pricey, but I guess that's to be expected for a limited run. Pass.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
Knifeworks pre-orders these days typically require a small ($20) non-refundable deposit with the full amount not charged until shipping. Years ago they were no-deposit but I think there have been a lot of "oh, I changed my mind" situations.![]()
What type sheath does it come with?
The sheath follows in the Becker tradition, taken up a notch. It is nothing fancy, in part because in my experience better than half of fixed blade buyers won't like whatever sheath you provide, regardless, and will have a custom sheath made for them that's exactly what they want. What you get is a sturdy black nylon sheath with a heat molded plastic insert and a pocket on the front. The pocket has an elastic top and is big enough to hold an Altoids tin. Sewn onto the flap over the pocket is Doug Ritter-Becker collaboration logo in gray thread on a black tape. The handle retaining strap has a stiffener to make it easy to unsnap one-handed. Lashing points are provided top and bottom and the back is Molle compatible.
BTW, I didn't get any note in the ordering process regarding how charges would work. I'm assuming the above is standard. I'll likely call tomorrow and check.
Yes, I was expecting to see something about deposits, timing of charges, etc.I also half-expected to see an order limit, but didn't find one.
I wound if the balancing thingamabob is compatible with the micarta handles.
About time!
What took you guys so long??![]()
Looks really good and totally plugs a hole in the lineup. It becomes hard to consider when a BK2 is what $65 or so on the market? For another $40 or so, the RSK MKIII is right there with fancy steel.
There are so many ~$120 knives to choose from that I'm not sure on how unique this one is by comparison. At a more typical street price around $70, this thing would be a shining star.
Knocking on the door of Bark River, Fallkniven, ESEE, the list goes on and on...the choice is tough unless one is a Becker collector.
