down2man (George Huang)

Yeah ooitzoo, I bet this thread and the mods had nothing to do with Georges change of heart, he just suddenly decided it was the right thing to do on his own. Are you and mag_g related are something? You two seem to think and act alike, you both even have similar threads in Whine & Cheese full of your fans.

To those behind the scenes that really went the distance to get this resolved, thank you.

No, I don't think the thread or mods had anything to do with his change of heart. I think your unflinching vigilance drove him to do the right thing.

Can we please acknowledge the George went above and beyond on this one?

Yeah, your probably right ooitzoo. Thanks George for doing the right thing, better late than never.

Guess they don't believe in sarcasm in Portlandia

Regardless of what you may say or believe. I have to applaud George for going well above what would otherwise be expected of him.

Can we please acknowledge the George went above and beyond on this one?

Above and beyond? Hardly.

He deserves only a smidgeon of praise for putting right his wrongs, after trying to dodge his responsibilities, being exposed, pleading ignorance to clear information. Hes been caught out and has thankfully done the right thing.........he clearly felt rightous about hanging onto the $$$ a few days ago.

I agree. I think George was basically forced into the doing the right thing under the glaring light of public opinion. He should have reimbursed Dylan as soon as he became aware that the knife was held up in customs, regardless of PayPal's idiotic ruling. He didn't go above and beyond, he was dragged to what we would consider a fair outcome.

glad to hear that things are working out for you. It sucks that someone might have had to lose out on this deal but I think knowing the buyer has had multiple knives sent and trouble with customs before he probably should assume the majority of the responsibility.

Hopefully he can get the knife through customs or get it sent back to the seller who can refund his money.

good luck to all involved.

As an aside from the main issue here, if anyone is at all interested feel free to plug EI491059551US into the USPS tracking to see what a completed knife delivery to here looks like. That package was three Scrap Yard 911s that I collected an hour or so ago. When I just checked it still has not updated to show I have collected them but will overnight.

Holy......my god this thread is long and divided many opinions. Glad things were resolved and the parties came to an agreement. This thread has been a lesson in intl knife sales to all. Frankly, it's just put me off dealing outside the conus. Thanks for the lesson.

Looks as if this has been settled but I would be interested in knowing if the knife was received by the buyer, returned to the seller or confiscated by customs.
