Indeed, it works similar as the Emerson knives. It works great, and as a bottle opener tooWhat do they mean about the notch allowing the knife to "open faster than an automatic"?
Is it a wave like the Emersons have?
Are they seriously patenting a bottle opener?
I don't feel the price is justified over the Lion Steel HEST's I see the Urban as the HEST's weaker thinner smoother opening much more expensive American cousin.
I just received my bronze edition and Im pretty disappointed. Upon first glance I thought that Id received a sterile edition because the color of the scales looked nothing like the yellow-ish/gold picture from the kickstarter page. I emailed customer service and received a response that I had indeed received the bronze edition. Other people have popped up on the campaign comment section sharing similar experiences.
To be clear, the knife itself seems to be pretty solid and I wouldn't complain about the price if it hadn't been for this issue with the finish. It feels solid and substantial, and looks clean. It wasn't scary sharp out of the box but I just wrote that off to being a "working edge" on a "working knife".
Below is a photo (or link to a photo) a comparison of my ti spyderco sage, the "bronze" edition hest I received, and a screen shot of the bronze edition from the kickstarter page.

Edit 7/11: There was an update on the kickstarter page showing a worn-in bronze compared to a sterile. The bronze looked pretty nice but unfortunately not really like the one I received (definitely not like the one in the original rendered photo).
Even still, after playing with the knife for a few days I've really come to like it as a whole. The finish is not what I was expecting or hoping for, but when it boils down it the knife as a total package seems great.
