Dress pants pocket knife

When I wear dressier clothes, I usually carry a Peanut, my 33 Whittler, or a Case Eisenhower.

I always carry a peanut in my uniform trousers. Last time I wore a suit it was a peanut too.

I carry a lot of different knives in my work khakis, but my favorites are slim single spring patterns like the Conductor, White Owl, Case Mini Copperhead, Boker and Case pen knives (don't know model #s :o), Puma Bantam, all the "mini" and "tiny" Case patterns (muskrat, stockman, trapper, toothpick), small Congress from Case and Eye Brand etc.
Small jacks too, like the GEC 66, Case medium Jack, and of course the Peanut! :D

The trouble I've noticed lately is the really small ones like to slip out of my pants pocket in my car!

That's what the loosely wadded up bandana is for! Always have the bandana on top of the little knife.

I usually wear khakis or dress pants for work and have found that more-often-than-not I end up with a Buck 309 (sometimes a Old Timer 108OT or a peanut-sized Laguiole, too) in my pocket. All of those are slim and give me 'enough knife' for whatever I usually run into.

I don't worry about the knife, I just use 'fancy pants' knife sheaths, they hang above the pocket bottom over along the seam, you can carry a pig sticker if you want...........300

That's the problem Carl, I do have a wadded up bandana in the same (left) pocket! I think it's because I bought a car with a manual transmission, using the clutch makes the knife sneak out from behind the bandana and out into the car  The Peanuts, due to their more compact mass like to do it the most, with my slim Hen & Rooster half Congress next.
I may have to start using one of the knife slips I have to make 'em behave :D

Use a pocket slip. Case sells them in small, medium, large. Inexpensive too --- $8 or $9 for packs of five small ones. You can cut the flap off if you choose.

Those look good too. I have at least one leather pocket slip each from KSF, Scagel, Case, Buck, and Boker but they sorta overwhelm a Peanut. I'll have to check out the small and keep my Peanut corralled where it belongs :D

Suede out so they are "sticky", if you will (they, themselves won't accidently slip out of your pocket). The small will hold a Case peanut snugly so I'd cut the flap off.

These do look useful, some pocket slips can be thick&bulky, kind of pointless with a small knife. If it's made in a grippy faux suede all the better as I've had trouble with small knives in cars too (Here in Europe all 'real' cars are manual:D:D )

Sent you an email, JerryIsAlive. You can also look at properties of the pic above, but that's not the cheapest you can find.

I think it's just defective pants :) I had the same problem when I used to EDC a SAK, even in the right pocket I'd keep finding it underneath the car seat. Pockets on many pants are too shallow it seems.

I now carry a Kershaw Crown (I know, not a traditional) in my front pocket - or a BM Grip or Emerson CQC-7 if I'm wearing jeans - and if I think I might need more tools a SAK in my back pocket next to my wallet.

I probably could get away with carrying a traditional if I wore jeans every day, but khakis or actual dress pants, it doesn't work well. Need the pocket clip.

I have carried this peanut sized Queen [for the most part of] the past two days, thanks to Will's generosity.

I say for the most part, because last evening I experienced something similar to what zippofan noted above. We went out with friends, and at one point in the evening I reached in my pocket to discover the knife was missing. Looked in the car seat when we left for home, but did not find it. Back at home I discovered it between the cushions of the couch where I was sitting after work and before we went out.

I was so relieved not to have lost a gift from a friend!

Well, as I am in the last month of the "experiment" and doing well with it., i.e, not feeling any pain at not carrying any of the dozens of knives other than the "chosen three" and having the good sense to include a mini copperhead in those three (How could I not?), I carry this one for Sundays and other "dress pant" occasions (bottom knife in this photo):

My high school English teacher is shaking her finger at me now for that awful sentence structure above...

I am typically in business casual (slacks) through the week and a suit on Sunday, my knives of choice are a GEC 85, Case SBJ, Case Peanut, and or on occasion my pocket hunter in damascus steel.

Glad you found the Peanut Doug, glad too that you still like it!

Ed, that bone on the Mini Copperhead is something to lose your mind over, I need to look into one of those....

Oddly enough, got to work and to my horror found I had left without a knife! The horror and terror:eek: But, the wise always have a 'stash' I keep a CASE Pen in Yellow D for just such trauma in my office, it's a really great lightweight pocket companion.

Regards, Will
