Another thing I already knew too many people are, sadly.

It's a "pay it forward" thread, I mean how low can you go? That's below the bottom....

Geez man .. Sorry to hear that your generosity was just a way for a person to get over on you . I have donated tools to other Knifemakers when I have upgraded with the hope that they would do the same . It feels good to give when you can . I seriously thank you for letting the others know what lurking in the room with us .

Just another point of information about this guy called "Dsun"

I took a glance at his whopping 50+ posts and found that he not only acted shamefully in the pay it forward thread he's also entered 6 GAW threads by my count. Put another way, for every10 times he's posted one of them was to ask for a freebie. He of course has never been the giver in any of those threads.

A real piece of work.

I gave away a knife not too long ago thru the Forum...sure am glad he didn't get it!!
Wow unbelievable :grumpy:

I was nauseous after seeing Steve Ketchen's post, he's the one who found the knife for sale on IG. I gave away a knife and the feeling can't be explained.
To see someone throw away his integrity for a few bucks tells me he doesn't value it at all.
I really hope this dickhead doesn't kill the Pay It Forward thread. I'm going to put up another blade just because.
What a prick.

Sad, really. No integrity or class.

This same thing happened to my wife and I recently. We gave a pretty much new pack-n-play to a soon to be young mother. About a month later my wife happened to find it for sale on Craigslist. Thats fine if you dont need it or want it, but how about just pass it along to someone else that wants/needs it rather than try to make some cash off something you got for free.

You know, all the guy would have do to possibly redeem his reputation is to come on here, post an apology for his actions, send a knife to someone else and promise to never behave in such a despicable way on this forum ever again. Sadly, I don't see that happening.

The last two knives I gave away in the previous P.I.F type threads went to people that have never been back to the forum since FWIW.

Slimy, scummy beggars IMHO. No pride, honesty or integrity with any of these losers. :thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn:

Years ago someone came on here asking for recommendations for decent cub scout knives. I set it up with New Graham to have her call them and tell them what they wanted on me with the condition that they come back later and show everyone what the troop was doing with their knives. Never heard from her/them again. Sucks she didn't show back up but I at least hope the kids benefited from decent gear...

I created a PIF thread years ago on another forum, and made the rule that you had to offer up something in the same post that you claimed something. A few people tried to ignore that, but for the most part it worked well.

I've never felt comfortable entering GAW's .
When ever I read through a GAW thread I see names that I have never seen before participating in that particular forum or sub forum . Most of the posts from names I do recognise and trust start with " this is not an entry " .
I do leatherwork for a hobby and 95% is given away to people I think will enjoy and use the stuff . I get a huge amount of satisfaction giving , but giving shouldn't be a competition in my opinion it should be directed to where it is needed or at least appreciated .
Strangers are often very strange .

Man it sure would be the worst thing ever if somebody bought that knife and scammed him ;)

I'm not going to let this sour the whole idea of that thread. I have a bunch of knives that get no carry time and wouldn't bring much if put up for sale.
Even if this happens again, scammer, good karma will come our way.
It really pissed me off that the knife this scumbag promised to give was going to a 15 year old boy who would've appreciated the shit out of it. Heartless prick.
I straightened that out and am sending him an Endura cause he likes Spydie!! Kid got taste!!

No one ever notices my knife, but I've received compliments on the SAK two layer sheath you gave me. Even had a guy try to trade me for it. No dice. My son gets it when I'm dead (and not before).
