Durable folding knife

+1 for the Benchmade 710. That's a very celebrated and time tested blade that meets most of your requirements. My favorite edc ever was my Benchmade 551-1 full size Griptilian with AWT scales (6061 t6). Light weight, durable, perfect deployment, and it slid in and out of my pocket with ease. Very pretty too. You could spring for the 551-1 in 20cv, which would run you about $260 with the scales, or just go with the standard 154cm, which would only run you about $180 with the scales. Either would be an excellent choice for edc!

Sure like that 710 Heartland!! Been looking at the Benchmade knives since joining and that looks like it may be the next EDC. Purchased a Buck Alpha Folder and the CSAR but this 710 looks like a great with superior steel and love the handle. This newbie is at least goin with quality even if I don't own the biggest collection. Does the blade deploy very quickly on this model if I may ask? Thanks for taking time to post the pics.

Thanks! This is actually a modified Griptilian. But yes, the blade deploys with ease. Like butter actually. When I changed the scales, I took the time to sand the washers down slightly with 1000, 1500, and 2000 grit sandpaper, while making sure to keep them completely flat and evenly distribute pressure with the paper. Then I cleaned and oiled everything. Made all the difference in the world. Smooth with no play!

Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter. 3.5" 4.8 oz (weighed) Excellent ergos. Very stout tip and tough stain resistant steel. ~$90. Can't beat it for the money.

Cold steel code 4. Spear point, clip point, or tanto. 3.5 inch cts xhp blade. Tri-ad lock. [non-BF dealer reference removed.] Can't beat that.

its a bit big, and I live in southern lousiana so the summers are very hot = a lot of sweat and a lot of sweat= very rusty d2. Might get one eventually but its not what I'm looking for now.
Just so you know - they come with M390 steel for less than your budget.
