Has anybody been in contact with Dwaine at Airkat knives??

I have an outstanding order with him, and he has not returned my emails!!

Anyone else have a outstanding order or had an order come in? I am looking at how much longer I need to wait!!

He originally said 4-6 weeks, but it's going on 16 months.

Have you tried the phone number on his website.....405-503-5879?

Sure you have but just in case..........

All the explanation you need.

Curious on this saying?

He has been in contact up till January. When I payed it was suppose to be about ready. He had a good reputation on delivery and as a maker.

More or less I was asking if anyone else has an outstanding order and or has heard from him.

I am waiting for a knife, Joe. Order was placed Feb 2014. Dwaine has an apparently overly aggressive anti-spam on his computer. I sent several emails using my Yahoo account that went unanswered for months. I then sent one using my ISP email address and he replied within a day or two.

That seems to verify the email issue, giving credence that it's likely true and not an excuse.

His reply to that email, just this week, gave the same reasons as he's given me before and as what's on the main page of his website: cad/cam learning curve and his backlog.

He told me it would be another 3-4 weeks, which isn't ideal, but I'm going to wait it out.

He did mention in the email to call the shop phone listed on his website if you don't receive an email reply from him.

Sounds like nothing we haven't seen before. Whether that proves to be a bad thing or not, is still an unknown.

Dont know anymore than what is on his website and talks about and it shows pictures of some kind of tornado destruction of home and shop.

I dont know the man or whether its true or not....but giving benefit of the doubt and assuming its true... as i see no reason to doubt it. Its one of the best......legit and fair and reasonable excuses ive ever seen for being behind.

I dont know squat though and had never heard of the man until this thread and i went and looked.

One of my buddies on Instagram has this same issue! He paid for his knife in full in 2012 and hasn't heard from him at all despite him making new knives.

Yup, I saw he had the same problem.

I received a email from him today. Said he had some computer issues. Hopefully he will come through for us who have an order with him!!

First sign of trouble is the request for up front payment...run like the wind. There are too many makers who do not ask for prepayment for one to have to use a maker that does.

I paid and placed my order (3 knives) oktober 2012 and I'm still waiting! he seems solid so I'll hope to get them someday...

Dwaine's a talented guy that's been around a long time.
I don't know him but I can tell you, if he's changing how he does things, like going to in-house CNC, big delays would not be unusual.
