Yes it is.Two and a half years might well constitute a "big delay."
Has anyone received a knife from him recently? Anyone? He had pics on his website (which is not working ATM) of some work in progress. Some recent knife deliveries to anyone which he claimed was going on would help put a lot of minds at ease.
I received a email from another gentleman on the forum who Dwaine owes him a few knives. One was delivered, but only after he pestered Dwaine.
Hopefully he will come through for everyone he owes a knife to!!
4 - 6 weeks is not realistic. Iordered a lot of these as i was a true fan ...but the waitingtime allways endure longer as the paypal safetysystem ( 45 days ) ...and after that period you need to wait ........ and like the other guy above stated: The hardest knife to make is the allready payed one...
Dwaine is reliable but ....if you are someone who want to get a result for your payment "in time" .....and not with open end ...than this is no choice ...
Ain't that the truth. Nice Lange & Sohne, btw.The hardest knife for a maker to finish is the one that's already paid for...

Bumping this up...
Still no word from Dwaine!
Been in business, HVAC, for close to 40 years and will only take a small deposit on a large project.
I have been offered full payment up front many times and always refuse. There is no desire to finish that job quickly. When full payment is received the job is done and the customer is satisfied. Why would someone want you to pay up front for something that doesn't exist??
Too many variables come into play. If I got hurt and couldn't finish a job I'd rather my customer have his money in his pocket to go somewhere else.
Really hope this guy comes through for the buys that are stuck.
