e- cigarettes?

Did you snort the snus? Do people even do that? I have no idea. My brother uses Copenhagen "snus" or "snuff" but he dips it.

You're thinking of snuff. Snuff is powdered tobacco that you stick up your nose. American snuff is dip. Snus is like dip, you can get it in pouches, or loose. There are less health risks than american snuff because it's pasteurized. One of the benefits, is that you don't have to spit, and you don't really produce a lot of saliva, because the dip is packed away in your upper lip. Great tasting, and it's affordable, if ordered from Sweden. But at the end of the day, it still isn't doing your gums any justice. It's a shame because I still own some pricey Icetools, which are milled devices that allow you to make a dip out of the loose snus, without getting your hands dirty.

I tried some of the skoal snus one day when I was on the road and left my cigarettes at home. It's not as good as the real snus from Sweden, but gave me my nicotine fix in a pinch.

I'm rocking an arc precision viper mech mod. Love this thing. Right now i have a dripper on it, but I also have a genesis tank build that I use.

I smoked for 20 years. My wife bought me a cheap gas station ecig that looked like a cigarette a few years ago, I hated it an it made my head feel weird when I used it. Went right back to cigarettes. A few months ago I picked up a provari mini with a pro tank 2. Haven't had or wanted a cigarette since. If anyone wants to read more on e ciggs an mods, I learned a ton of info on the ecig forums

These seem to be a lot like knives too many choices wish there was a setup where you buy a kit and your good to go.

I'm trying to put together a kit for different uses, there are some very simple and effective kits out here that don't require any extra mods and don't have any extra bells and whistles. The best thing is to make sure you buy the "legit" stuff rather than saving some bucks on the knock off, just like knives.

The eG0-CC kit that I am planning on buying is a full kit ready to use. All you need is more nicotine liquid when the sample runs out.

Start shopping around now for quality juice. The stuff they include as a sample is pretty harsh and tastes like litter box tootsie rolls.

I just picked up a vamo. It seems like a decent mod for cheap. I will say that the pro tank 3 doesn't sit totally flush. I'm afraid to really tighten it down as I heard the vamo threads are kind of a weak point. Now, to start making my own coils...

I smoked a pipe and cigars for 15 yrs. Worked in a cigar shop for 5 years. I switched to vapor over a year ago and have been tobacco free. My sinuses have cleared up and my sense of taste has returned. I loved smoking my pipe, and found that I could still enjoy "smoking" while reaping the benefits to my health. I used to get about 5 sinus infections a year and now have only had one. You have to find what balance of VG or PG works for you, and some do have PG allergies, so with a little homework and buying from quality sources, you can get set-up with a better alternative to smoking tobacco. If you buy cheap, expect cheap. I have numerous friends now that have stopped smoking completely. Try some of the iTaste batteries like the VV and a Kangertech tank to start. Cost will be about $50 bucks plus your juice, but it is a world better than BLU. I bounce between 6 and 12 on the nic scale. With so many quitting tobacco for vape, one must ask is the Gov't really concerned about my health, or do they want to reclaim lost tobacco tax dollars?

I can't believe I just found this thread. I'm an analog smoker for years! Haven't had one in 4 months, thanks to ecigs and blueberry waffle!

I sure hope New York State doesn't make them illegal like everything else.

Now for a serious answer.

You don't smoke, so you really cannot get it. So you really cannot make your case by oversimplification as you attempted to in your first statement. Are the people at your work truly trying to get attention? Or are they getting a nicotine fix when they can, instead of smoking? Yes, all smokers realize that it is a habit that carries chronic diseases that may be untreatable at one point. The thing is, you can smoke for years and not feel any effects of the "bad for you" stuff. If it happened immediately, that would put a different spin on things wouldn't it?

Some folks that do not smoke, think it's the cool thing to do. Those are the ones that look like complete idiots, behaving in a way that leaves little doubt as to the observation I just made. But if the person genuinely wants to quit smoking for good, this is a breakthrough alternative that seems (up until now) to be working for many lost causes. I'm sure you may do some pretty annoying things at work as well, but the ecig showoffs may have enough tact not to mention it to you. Who knows. My research into the matter reveals that because they have not been FDA tested, they are NOT to be used as a smoking cessation device. As far as the "re-uping" statment you make, I do not understand what you are referring to.

I smoked for years and years. The habit really sucks the cash out of your pockets, makes you reek like an ashtray, and is in fact highly addictive, and can give you lung and other cancer. I decided to quit smoking once and for all. I asked one of the members here for some help with learning about the ecigs. Before that I tried patches, gum, lozenges, Chantix, they all sucked and didn't work. Also, without getting into any political garbage, more and more employers are moving to control what their employees do on and off the clock. Your employment may be contingent on your use of tobacco. Geico is one company that years ago or more moved to hire only those people that did not use tobacco. Yet they can be raging alcoholics or gambling addicts and they get a pass. Strange how these things seem to work.

I bought an ecig and I have not smoked a full cigarette in over a month now. I will cheat once in a while and light one, take a drag or two then throw it away. As far as the ecigs themselves, they are not created equal. You can buy a ton of stuff for them, tanks, batteries, mouth pieces, etc. Pimp it out as much as you want. The juice is made differently by different companies too. You can get it in just about any flavor and nicotine level you want. Intelligent people don't necessarily try to max out their nicotine levels, that is just not how the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the brain function. You hit a satiation point, and you stop. The trick is to go down gradually until you wean yourself off of it once and for all. I hope this helps you get it a bit more than when you started the thread. I owe some thanks to Charlie Mike and Trivia Monster for the videos and heads up on what to buy.

/Written while intermediately puffing on my ecig. ;)
Well said Revdevil!!!! People always judge/fear what they don't understand. I smoked for 23 years and on a whim I tried ecigs about a year ago and that was when I had my last tobacco cig, a year ago. There will always be people out there trying to get attention, but most of us ecig users are not them. We bring attention to other smokers out there to let them know theres other things out there. Are ecigs safe NO we are still inhaling nicotine and other substances but it WAY WAY better than the chemical mix in tobacco cigs. Will people abuse them of course but that should not take away the fact that millions of people are using them to quit alltogeather. Including myself as I am rocking My magneto w/ kayfun lite and steam factory screwberry, I am loving the kayfun w/ the micro coil at .9 ohm and organic cotton wick . This thing hits like a freight train and make storm clouds of vapor. I am going to have to drop down to 6mg of nic caused it hits so hard!!!!

It's great to hear all the stories of people quitting cigarettes, but I really do not like the idea of this becoming commonplace. It's still a highly addictive substance, and should be treated as such.

So is caffeine, Nicotine is just as addictive as caffeine and just as harmful. Should Starbucks be treated as such as well?
