Well, I made a trip this weekend up to Indiana for my wife's grandmother's 90th birthday, and brought our good friend Earl with me.
I had enough time to hop down to Shelburn, IN to spend time with my friends, Tony and Reese Bose in their workshop, Wilfred Works!
During my first visit to Tony's shop, Earl came up in conversation, and Tony was familiar with his travels and adventures, and mentioned that he would love to meet him at some point. Well, since he had returned to me, I was planning on bring him with me to Tony's shop.
Upon arriving, I mentioned to Tony that I had brought a world traveler with me, and when I went to reach in my pocket, he already knew who it was. He was quite happy to see our old friend!
While I was there, Rob Bixby, aka The Apostle P, came down for a visit, and had to visit with Earl one last time. He was also happy to see an old friend.
As the day went on, Tony had mentioned to me that he would be interested in keeping Earl, and, well, as I thought about it, I could not think of a better resting place for him. I thought, let the old dog rest with the Old Dog. So, alas, Earl has found his final resting place amongst his brethren. I'll miss you, old friend!
Here he is with J. Sebring, an old Primble Granddaddy Barlow:
Well, folks, that concludes the travels of our favorite old barlow, Earl the traveling knife. His ramblin' days are over, but, man, what an adventure it was.
Thank you all so very much for participating in this journey. I think we all had a great time, and maybe someone else will take up Earl's mantle as the traveling pocket knife in the future. Let's see what else we can come up with!
All the best,
Your friend, Evan.
