Earl Sees the World!

Fantastic pics Evan :) You too Charlie

Earl, I miss you buddy, folks here still ask about you, but I am glad you made it back home :)

Really, really well done (and well played). Earl's life just keeps getting better and better!!! Thanks for that ESNYX, and all you Rendezvous Gang members.

Esnyx, thank you so much for sharing EARL with us, catalyzing the connections he both symbolizes and furthers as he travels along.

I am deeply grateful for being able to rejoin and/or meet so many great people at GEC's Rendezvous, but EARL is the only one for whom I ran, upon hearing of his presence.

True story.

I'd love to be included in a future travel itinerary if Earl ever wants to visit Central Washington state (the dry desert part).

Such an enjoyable thread, as always. The selfish chain was brilliant!

Evan, thanks for that great Earl update! Looks like he had a good time rubbing elbows at the GEC Rendezvous. :D

My pleasure, folks! I have no clue where Earl will be sent off to after our next trip, but I'll decide eventually. Let's try to get Earl to visit as many continents as we can!

Well, I made a trip this weekend up to Indiana for my wife's grandmother's 90th birthday, and brought our good friend Earl with me.

I had enough time to hop down to Shelburn, IN to spend time with my friends, Tony and Reese Bose in their workshop, Wilfred Works!

During my first visit to Tony's shop, Earl came up in conversation, and Tony was familiar with his travels and adventures, and mentioned that he would love to meet him at some point. Well, since he had returned to me, I was planning on bring him with me to Tony's shop.

Upon arriving, I mentioned to Tony that I had brought a world traveler with me, and when I went to reach in my pocket, he already knew who it was. He was quite happy to see our old friend!

While I was there, Rob Bixby, aka The Apostle P, came down for a visit, and had to visit with Earl one last time. He was also happy to see an old friend.

As the day went on, Tony had mentioned to me that he would be interested in keeping Earl, and, well, as I thought about it, I could not think of a better resting place for him. I thought, let the old dog rest with the Old Dog. So, alas, Earl has found his final resting place amongst his brethren. I'll miss you, old friend!

Here he is with J. Sebring, an old Primble Granddaddy Barlow:

Well, folks, that concludes the travels of our favorite old barlow, Earl the traveling knife. His ramblin' days are over, but, man, what an adventure it was.

Thank you all so very much for participating in this journey. I think we all had a great time, and maybe someone else will take up Earl's mantle as the traveling pocket knife in the future. Let's see what else we can come up with!

All the best,

Your friend, Evan.

I cannot think of a finer ending to the tale.

Thank you, Evan.

I do wish that you all had a chance to spend some time with our old friend, but this seemed too fitting a final resting place for him. I apologize to those of you who did not get a chance to participate, and, again, thank you to those who did.

Those are great pics Evan, and what a lovely end to Earl's odyssey. Perhaps Tony will let us see how he's getting on from time to time :)

It seems that Earl finally found THE good home to stay! :) That was really a fantastic idea, thank you again.

What a great ending to Earl's Odyssey! It looks like he'll be in fine company.

Thanks Evan for starting Earl on his adventures, we have all enjoyed them. Thank you Tony for receiving Earl into your home as a part of your fantastic barlow family. :) Can't think of a better place for Earl to reside than knife heaven. :D
