Eating With Your EDC?

I don't use my edcs for food, prep or consumption. But I have thought about getting one of those Shun gentleman's steak knives to take for a fine steak dinner.

Anyone who'd seriously consider using their EDC for eating everyday would likely carry something like a Spyderedge Pacific Salt.

Or would just cut food with a modicum of care.

Why do some people think to use their knife like a saw?

I never eat with my EDC knife.

Same here. I've never found the need to use my EDC in this manner, as my kitchen is stocked with knives, and the restaurants I frequent provide utensils. But I harbor no malice towards those who are less civilized than me.

I went out for a steak dinner the other night and used my UKPK Rescue as a steak knife. It went thru that Prime Rib like a laser....

Yes, and the Sheepsfoot blade shape made it easier to scoop up the mashed potatoes (with peas mixed in)....

Pure savagery I tell you!
The pure nerve of using a knife as...a knife.
Heavens to Betsy, what will the neighbours thinK?

1. It is unsanitary.
2. I don't care if your knife cost $15,000 it is completely not classy imo.

Rebuttal to point 1) Not if you clean it first. Cleaning things makes them clean. Weird!
Rebuttal to point 2) Who gives a flying crap?

Anyone who thinks an EDC isn't the thing to eat with is just missing the whole point of having a knife in your pocket.

I told my wife of this thread, and the dillemma of whether or not to use the EDC to eat.
Her response, "Why not?"

Can't argue against that.:)

Yes, I do use my EDC knife for eating and preparing food.
