EDC Bags, RATS, and Stuff

Oh, and my RATs all together. :)

I would never carry this much stuff daily.
If anything it would jinx me and I'd be the first to die in the earthquake/nuclear winter/zombie apocalypse.

That being said, I'm trying to carry some stuff in my messenger bag daily. Space blanket, poncho, multitool, flashlight etc. I can't go all out because I take public transit, and BOB's are a bit much for a non car driver like myself. Currently working on an altoid tin kit that I can pocket. I have a SAS size tin I was working on, but found out that is way too big to fit in a pants pocket.

Good kit; alot of repeats but if it brings security to your mind more power to you. 22 pounds for all that gear is not a bad weight at all, was weight something you were keeping an eye on when choosing gear?

Yea weight is a big factor when you are choosing gear.
I could see leaving a few doubles at home IMO
I have too many first aid items. I could get rid of a few

Halworks, that orange waterproof matchcase looks awesome! Where on Earth did you get something that cool? :p;)

Hmm I wounder which would win the dashound or the cat? 42blades what are the para cord rings? They look good. Nice kits I don't have one yet but working on it.

I liked that book. Ity takes A LOT of stuff from Nessmuck and other poular outdoors books of old.

Nice set up. You gave me some ideas I haven't thought of. Where did you get the Rat patches especially the Izula?

Too many first aid items? Isn't that like saying there is too much air? I mean, I'd agree w/ you if you had a defib kit perhaps, but for me i'd rather be over prepared than underprepared when it comes to first aid. Some of your other redundancy items i'd consider reducing first. Like the second sporky thing. But even then, redundancy, IMO, is one of the hallmarks of a bag like yours. If you were ever in a real survival situation, do you really want to rely only on ONE fire starter or only ONE knife or only ONE lightsource, ONE signalling device? I wouldn't... Some think it's overkill, but better safe than sorry, I say... But then again, I live in the country, have to fly alot, and am frequently driving in places where if I'm stranded or am in an emergency situation, i'm not going to have immediate assistance. I need to have gear that will work or if broken, I will have backup. I like your set up alot and will be using it to assist me w/ my bag.

Only comment: You've got paracord lanyards on your paracord lanyards....but no love for the izula?

:D He, he, he...........:D

I went on a lanyard binge over the weekend - got some new goodies in the mail from the Lighthound (snaps, skulls and more 550) - made some for all the zipper pulls on my range bag, RC3, Swiss Army Knife..............

Nice set-up - great ideas!!

Looks like you are ready to go! Never can have enough supplies in a situation you might need them! Very good idea

lol thanks for the insight, I was asking what items within your construction did you forgo to find a lighter weight option if any?

I mainly just try to find the most smallest most compact items. I did go with the trail light first aid kit because it is super light. I really like the squishy bowls they are super light. When the dog and I are out he has something to get a drink out of. If you have a pet that goes in the woods with you they are great. http://www.guyotdesigns.com/ .
