EDC Challenge?

Okay, so forgive me if this has already been done, or you guys think it's boring, but, on another forum, I participated in sort of an edc challenge, and thought it would be a neat idea to do one here.
The premise is everyone has a pretty specific type of knife they like to use daily, or ones they rotate through, so if you partake in the challenge, it's you picking a knife that you would never use daily, and, well, using it daily for a period of time.
Would there be any interest in this? It would run for about a month or a little less, and there would most likely be a prize, but mainly it's all for fun.
Any knife would be permitted, as long as it's legal, and you could use it for everything you use a knife for.
Again, if there's any interest in this, it would be a cool idea to do it here.
Any takers?

EDIT
Start date for this will be March 1st.
A sign up thread will be started today, February 4th

Well, as much as I hate to do it. I will :D. I think I'll carry my very worn down Valley Forge tear drop jack, main blade (what's left of it) is 1 3/4", secondary 1". I'll post a picture sometime of it now, and in two weeks when I stop. I'll carry my Mora or Opinel as a big cutter as well, preferably the Mora as it doesn't see EDC either.

If there's enough interest, I'll have a start and end date, that way it'll give people enough time to buy that weird knife they'd never use. I'm eyeing a couple on bladehq right now

I like the idea of using whatever weird you have on hand, makes people appreciate what they got more, or realize what they really don't need.

That's true. I've got some weird ones but I've already used them to know I don't like them. I'll leave it up to the individual if they want to grab a new one or use one they have

I'm gonna make a thread like this in the traditional forum with a bit of a twist. If it succeeds I'll give you a gift, but I wont tell you any more than that.

Yeah, a lot of us have knives we hate or don't use on hand. It still won't make me carry my Sebenza though. :)

I hope some of the tanto doubters take advantage of this.

Love this idea. Could even challenge those that want EDC a fixed blade to go that route. I would certainly be up for this but now would need to decide what to carry!

Would we be able to carry something different at work?
I would go fixed blade but that would be no bueno at work.

I will pass on this, only because almost all of my knives would be great for carry (I tend to sell those I actively don't like), so it wouldn't really be a challenge given that I have a desk job. I could conceivably get by with just a SAK, but where's the fun in that? Best of luck to those who participate, however.

I like it! But it's nothing without pics! Formalize the rules and let's start. This could be interesting. I've got a couple that I don't use a lot. Either I'll start liking them again, or up they go for sale :)

I think I'd bite on this. I know a knife I'd definitely carry for this also. My Kershaw Shuffle. It's so small, too small for me normally. I've barely carried it in the past year.

I think this is a great idea. I like to rotate so much it would be weird to carry the same knife everyday.

This would be tough...I'd probably select a modern knife with a 3-3.25" blade. I never carry that size because they just don't feel right to me, so I've got a couple of nice knives that just sit there. I'm not sure I'd make it an entire month; but it would be interesting to see if I feel differently about the knife/size at the end.

Sounds like a fun challenge, but how can I go w/o my favorite EDC?
Although I'd still be carrying, I'd still feel nekkid.
BB's challenge of edcing a box cutter does have my interest.
Wonder how'd that go.....*shiver*-- I'm going into withdrawals just thinking about it!

This sounds like fun. I'm not carrying a box cutter, though! Barely a knife to me. Maybe I'll carry a hawkbill or a medium-sized fixed blade.

I'm in... I've considered numerous times to carry my karambit more often, this will be the perfect reason to justify me doing so...

Work requirements trump game rules. And laws, etc should be taken in account.

What does everyone feel would be a good start date? I'll update my OP with rules as well, and start a new thread that the actual challenge will take place.

I know I'll be buying a new knife specifically for this, I've got two in mind, both cheap ones.
I want the start date to be at least a week or two away so anyone ordering a knife makes sure it gets here in time.
