EDC Challenge?

I understand that buying a new knife is not expected/required, and - as stated earlier - I have a few that would fit the bill.....I thought it was pretty obvious that I was thinking about using the "challenge" as an excuse to purchase a knife that I liked the looks of, but ordinarily would never use/carry. It seemed like a good way to force that knife into my pocket, giving it an opportunity to earn a place there.
 
So I typically carry a spyderco/ benchmade in the 3- 3.5 blade in a high tend steel. I have at times carried a opinel as a backup but never as a primary/only edc. Would a opinel #9 count? Traditional $12 peasant in carbon steel vs $60-150 modern folder in super steel?
 
Yeah I'll have to think about this. I have considered trying to force myself to give the pm2 a real try. It always seems too big and goes back in the box for something smaller
