I only have the raffir noble and maple, they are great.
Yo this knife is thin as a MF! Wow!
Only Taichung I've seen before is my girl's Sage 5 which is the standard upon which I base all comp locks. Dang. People like these for a reason. Glad I sprung for the CF, it's real.

Not as real as your wood, though, Jeebus Crispy, man, I saw your post in, I thinik the Spyderco thread, with all of your wooden scales? Those are amazing!
Wanna talk about wood, though, just wait about a week though, I've got something for you...

😁

I have the frn chaparral. You’ll love it, very good cutter and ergonomics

I understand carrying the same knife every day. That was how I used to carry. I was also happy with a small rotation, based on purpose or situation rather than frivolity. It works and you get to know your equipment.

Since posting more pics here, I've been cycling a different knife almost every day. Some of them have already seen a bunch of carry time in the past. It's fun to get those out again, like the Naja in today's post in the daily EDC thread. Some are newer knives that deserve more time. Sometimes though, it only takes a day (or just a "new knife orientation") to figure out if a new knife is a keeper.

Maybe - I don't have one to check. My Gayle Bradley 1 is fifteen thousandths BTE, combined with a hollow grind which makes it a monster slicer.
I believe the Chaparral is about 75 thousandths at the base of the spine and somewhere around 20 thousandths bte from the factory. I have GB 1 and had no idea it was that thin behind the edge. The blade stock thickness of the GB 1 looks substantial thicker than the Chapparal but it does have a serious hollow grind as you mentioned. Are you certain it’s 15 thousandths bte? Are you measuring after sharpening? I’m not a blade geometry expert so I defer to the experts. Just curious….

Have several that are considered EDC, fixed and folder, usually 1 of each... Rotate thru a small collection as the law allows, changing out every month or so. Also have self made, high polish, bare handle blade for special occasion carry.

My solid liner GB1 has only had one touch up, not truly a sharpening. Yes, it was right at .015 and my GB2 was close at 16 thou. My Medford Slim Midi is also .015, as is my MBK EWC.

I’ve completely changed my edc knife ways recently. My dad gave me a mini griptilian for Christmas 13 years ago and that was what I carried for the last 13 years lol. Looks the part too. Well I don’t want to lose it at work since it’s sentimentally valuable to me now, so I went about getting a replacement Benchmade for work. Ended up getting a mini bugout which is great, but maybe a bit too small. So 2 days later I went to buy an Osbourne 940, but came home with a 9400 automatic version once I learned of the auto knife ban being lifted in my state. THEN 2 days after that I had to get an OTF now that they’re legal here. Been after an Infidel for over 10 years, but I have to have a single edge to be legal. So I got what seems to be the last Benchmade phaeton (4600dlc) available anywhere online. THEN I stopped by a new local knife store and scored one of those $30-35 Lightning OTF knives that are popular. I’m curious as to how it compares to a Benchmade that is much more expensive.

TL:DR — I carried the same knife every day for 13 years before I bought another edc knife, which then lead to buying 3 more within a week (4 new knives total). So now I struggle picking which knife to carry lol.

I wear my favourite of the moment till I change my taste.

It may be days, weeks or even months.

So I don't do a rotation, I just don't see the point. Carry what you want or what you need for a specific task, like fishing.

🤷‍♂️

No one ever said you 'have to' do a rotation, it is just a way for me to sort out which ones I really like to keep and which ones are on the short list to leave the island

That's why I didn't join in. My "rotation" would get kinda boring. Every knife I've bought was intended to be my new favorite edc. I'll occasionally put one of my Spydercos or Hinderers in my pocket for a day, but I always end up back with the CRK. Before this Sebenza 31, it was one of my Inkozis. A CRK just seems to fit my needs, and they don't get babied.

Then there's this old Alox Electrician that's always in my other pocket.

Ironbut Ironbut Nice EDC right there and I appreciate that you join in on things that make sense to join in on, otherwise it's better to steer clear of threads that are of no interest to a person. Not every thing is for everybody, otherwise it would truly be a dull world out there ;)

The North Arm Skaha II that I carried a few days ago ended up being voted off the island, for a few reasons but those are just my feelings about it, history shows that I am not one to hang on to knife for too long, so it has to be special, BUT there are times that I have bought the same knife over and over....forgetting why I parted ways only to figure it out later on. But it's just something that I do ;)
