My 1st fixed as a EDC is this David Mary custom, built to my spec. It is 6inchs o/a, I will NOT go back to folders, at least not as a primary.

Definitely try fallkniven wm1. A full-length handle and a handy blade that doesn't scare anyone. You can take it out anywhere like a pocketknife and do anything.

Recently acquired a Volunteer 3.5 model with an S grind (AEB-L) and it’s become my main fixed blade carry. Comes with an excellent kydex sheath set up as a horizontal crossdraw carry.

Yes. It’s like a hollow grind with a more robust edge. Very slicey but still durable. Originally used in chef’s knives to prevent food from sticking to the blade

That is fantastic! I wouldn't mind one of them if it had a bit more belly like a Gossman UNK. Black canvas micarta too.

I'm looking at the 4.5" version of this knife. I would love to hear your experiences using it. In particular, the tip strength and its ability to pierce tougher materials.

I carry on my belt and tuck the tip of the sheath in my back pocket - I don't carry it for self defense just the normal opening things etc.

Here is one (not quite done yet) I am making for a coworker, as a gift for his grandfather. S90V sheepsfoot with Turkish Walnut. Hard to capture the figure of the wood in my kitchen.

Got three more that are similar on the bench. I love this pattern!
